Riverhead Crowns 2011 Champions In All Divisions At Senix Creek Inn Luncheon



    Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara and Jim Cromarty held their annual Champions Luncheon today at the Senix Creek in, sponsor of Eddie Brunnhoelzl III at Riverhead Raceway. Lots of nice looking trophy's were passed out to the assembled drivers. A really large overflow crowd attended the ceremony, hosted by the very capable Bob Finan, with help from co-chief stewards Mike Cappiello and Jim Maggio, and head tech inspector, Walter Boncek. In addition to the top 5 from each division, trophy's were given to Rookies of the Year inn the top 4 weekly divisions, and best appearing awards went to the nicest looking cars in all 7 weekly divisions.

  

   Collecting Rookie of the Year awards were Bryan Sescila in the Figure-8's, John Baker in the Chargers, Rob McCormick in the Late Models, and Jason Agugliero in the Modifieds. Best appearing awards went to Justin Strumpf in the Legends, Paul Parisi in the Blunderbusts, Lou Maestri in the Super Pro Trucks, Chris McGuire in the Chargers, Arne Pedersen in the Figure-8's, Roger Oxee in the Late Models, and Chris Young in the Modifieds. Car owners in each of the top divisions were also given trophy's.


   Top 5 Legends: Chris A. Young, Justin Strumpf, Kevin Nowak, Kyle Soper and Mike Malone.


   Top 5 Super Pro Trucks: Dave Koenig, Frank Dumicich, Jr., Chris Turbush, Lou Maestri, and Erin Dumicich.


   Top 5 Blunderbusts: Tommy Walkowiak, Tom Pickerell, Scott Maliszewski, Rob Bader, and Tom Sullivan.


   Top 5 Chargers: Chris Turbush, Chris McGuire, Jeremy McDermott, Ray Minieri, and CJ Lehmann.


   Top 5 Figure-8's: Arne Pedersen, Roger Maynor, Tom Ferrara, Mike Mujsce, Jr., and Dennis Scott.


   Top 5 Late Models: Mike Bologna, Scott Kulesa, Jarrod Hayes, Peter 'Buzzy' Eriksen, and Kevin Metzger.


   Top 5 Modifieds: Justin Bonsignore, John Fortin, Sr., John Beatty, Jr., Wayne Anderson, and Shawn Solomito.


   In Demo Derby, James 'Killa' Kilkenny won the points trophy.


   After the awards were passed out, a buffet luncheon was served to all in attendance, a nicely prepared meal made by the crew at Senix Creek Inn. The 1st place drivers, and any of their crew members, car owner or sponsors then had group photos taken by Michael Pares, who traveled all the way from his home in New Jersey to take the photos for Area Auto Racing News. Festivities wrapped up around 3 PM, with everyone making their way home.
