Riverhead Raceway posted a couple of race announcements today.
First starting with the opening night May 5th Cinco De Mayo event general admission will be $20.00 for adults and continuing for the first three weeks of the season ( May 5th, 12th & 19th). Late in the fall Tom and Eddie had made the promise to lower admission early in the season and have kept that promise.
8 divisions of racing to include LIVARS, NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, Figure Eights, Riverhead Modified Crates, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks and INEX Legends will greet the opening night fans.
The May Meltdown Enduro opener on Sunday May 6th will also find a $20 general admission for adults. Additionally returning to a long standing tradition general admission for the two pre-season practice days April 21st and 28th will be FREE!
The second announcement was made in regard to the Islip 300 to be held on Memorial Day weekend. The purse structure for the Saturday May 26th Islip 300 would remain the same as last year.
It will continue to be the highest paying race outside of the 2 NASCAR WMT races held later in the season.

The 300 lap race was brought back last year with a very successful event. 15 year old Dillon Steuer took down the $7,000 first place money and just prior to entering victory lane doing the burnout of the year.
