Strong Purse, Meaningful Contingencies & Strong Roster All a Part of Season-Opener at Claremont
Seekonk, Mass. (May 19, 2018): More than just the lucrative purse will be on the line for the stellar line up of teams and drivers supporting the Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) Opener at Claremont Speedway over Memorial Day weekend. Contenders like local favorites Todd Patnode, Brian Robie, Kirk Alexander and Russ Hersey along with Ryan Preece, Chase Dowling, Rowan Pennink, Ronnie Silk, Woody Pitkat, Anthony Nocella, and, of course, defending champ and TTOMS dominator, Matt Hirschman, will be among the 30 plus teams expected for the opener.
“Bringing this race to Claremont Speedway has been very special for Dick [Williams] in particular,” said Jim Schaefer. “To do it in honor of the late Ron Bouchard makes it more special. But, as important are the two additional awards that we have been able to add thanks to our strong supporters.”
In light of the recent passing of modified racing legendary Maynard Troyer, MyRaceNews.com will present a $106 bonus to the highest finishing Troyer-chassis entry.
Fan experience has always been of great importance to Series founders, Dick Williams and Jim Schaefer, and thanks to the Gerdik Family, the first “Fan’s Choice” will be awarded during the Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores 100 presented by Spafco and Jerico. One lucky fan will select, at their discretion, a driver to receive a bonus of $100. The “Fan’s Choice Award” will be presented in loving memory of Rick Gerdik.
Rick and his daughter Maria were regulars at Riverhead Raceway, Wall Stadium and Thompson Speedway. It was Rick’s wish to have “fans more involved”.
“This is our small way of seeing that wish fulfilled,” said Schaefer.
Contingency awards, like these, that honor not only great drivers but also recognize the fans, are the epitome of the Tri-Track Series.
Additional bonuses include The Red Roof Inn bonus for three non-qualifiers and the Sherwood Racing Products contingency. Two pre-registered teams will receive a pair of wheels; including the “Hard Charger” and the driver to lead the most laps.
The inaugural Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores 100 at Claremont Speedway presented by SPAFCO and Jerico is slated for Saturday, May 26, 2018. (Rain date Sunday, May 27). Featuring the $6k to win 100-green flag lap main event for the tour-type Modifieds, the night’s race card also includes Super Streets, Street Stocks and the 4-cylinder Wildcats.
Grandstand Admission for the Saturday, May 26 event is only $25. Kids ages 6-12 are admitted for $10 and ages 5 and under are free. Pit gates open at 1PM. Practice gets underway at 3PM when the grandstands open. Feature racing is slated for 6PM.
