WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Exciting stock car racing will take center stage on the speedway and community heroes will be honored in the grandstands as Wall Stadium Speedway presents “First Responders Night” this Saturday (July 7). On the track six All American Auto Group Racing Series divisions will compete in main events while in the grandstands the men and women who serve our community in police forces, fire companies and rescue squads will be admitted to the spectator area free of charge with proper identification.
Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. The evening’s main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.
On the famous third mile high-banked paved oval the Pete and Elda’s Bar/Carmen’s Pizzeria Modifieds will be in the spotlight in a 40-lap main event. Defending champion Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the way with expected competition coming from Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River and Jason Treat of Jackson, just to name a few.
The Center State Engineering Sportsman cars are set for a 25-lap main event with top point earners Eric Lane of Howell, Jonathan Laureigh of Lanoka Harbor and brothers Carsten and Jarret DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, among those drivers expected to see action.
The O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and the Mike’s Performance Center Limited Late Models are all slated to compete in 25-lap feature races. In addition the touring Three Quarter Midgets of the ATQMRA will compete in a 25-lap race on the fifth mile “inner oval.”
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying for the night’s program starts at 5:45 p.m. and main events will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through early October. Special events are also featured in the fall including the “Spooky Spectacular” in October and the season ending Turkey Derby on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
