PILAT GRAPHIC DESIGN TO ADDS TO PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS & CASINO RACE OF CHAMPIONS WEEKEND

-Pilat Design to Add $750 Value to the Race of Champions 250-

Waterloo, N.Y. – (September 19, 2017) – Pilat Design of Waterloo, N.Y., “the Champions Choice”, the official graphic designer for the Race of Champions Modified Series, will once again deliver bonuses for racers participating in the 67th Annual Race of Champion 250 which is the culmination of the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania. Pilat Design has provided the Race of Champions with all victory lane display checks for the past two seasons as well as designing the new victory lane backdrop and all Race of Champions provided graphics.

The winner of the 67th Annual Race of Champions 250 will receive a $500 certificate for product from Pilat Graphic Design. The 30th place finisher in the 250-lap race will receive an additional certificate for $250.

TOMMY CATALANO WINS “THE GREAT CANADIAN” RACE AT DELAWARE SPEEDWAY IN DELAWARE ONTARIO

-Catalano Scores First-Ever Victory in Historic Series Debut on Foreign Soil-

Delaware, Ontario – (September 16, 2017) – Tommy Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., scored the first ever Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Modified victory this past Friday night in at Delaware Speedway in Delaware, Ontario, Canada. Catalano’s win came in the track’s traditional “Great American Race Weekend” which played host to the first-ever Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Modified Series fueled by Sunoco.

Catalano set overall fast time during group qualifying, scored a win his in his qualifying race, his brother Troyer Catalano, redrew the pole in the customary redraw and he held of Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y., to take home the victory laurels.

“This was a big night for us,” smiled Catalano in victory lane. “It was a new track that I saw for the first time when I walked in earlier. We were able to adapt quickly and make things work. This is a family run team and it is great to come here tonight and be able to put everything together and win. I want to make sure I thank everyone including the track for having us. This was just a great night for all of us.”

Side-by-side racing was at a premium during restarts. Emerling worked his way forward from the 6th position while Scott Wylie of Blasdell, N.Y., challenged Catalano during the early to mid-stages of the race.

On each restart Emerling worked his way closer to Catalano and he was able to get to Catalano’s back bumper. Late in the race the duo entered lapped traffic and Catalano was able to break away and hold off Emerling for the victory.

Andy Jankowiak of North Tonawanda, N.Y., finished third while Wylie came home fourth. Connor Sellars of Owego, N.Y., who made the longest tow to participate in the event rounded out the top-five.

Wylie won the second qualifying race.

PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS & CASINO RACE OF CHAMPIONS WEEKEND ENTRY BLANK MAIL IN DEADLINE

Mail in Entries Must be Received by Tuesday, September 26, 2017

North East, Pa. – (September 11, 2017) – Competitors participating in the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend will have a mail in entry deadline of Tuesday, September 26, 2017. If an entry is not received by the mail in deadline competitors must enter at the event beginning Thursday, September 28.

Entry blanks for the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend and the 67th Annual Race of Champions are available by visiting the website (www.rocmodifiedseries.com) or they were issued within the comprehensive Competition Format for the event which was released on September 9, 2017.

Dave Kozlowski of Williamsville, N.Y., who will participate in the Sportsman Modified division on Friday, September 29 at Lake Erie Speedway and who is a weekly competitor at Lancaster (N.Y.) National Speedway became the first driver to enter the prestigious event on Saturday.
