Evergreen Opens Pre Registration for “Junelopy” Enduros

By: Gene Ostrowski

May 11, 2017

St. Johns, PA (5/11/2017) Evergreen Raceway is happy to announce that pre registration is open for their second regular season Evergreen Enduro Series event, presented by Sponenberg’s Exhaust. The popular series features bone stock Enduro racing for both the Four Cylinder and 6/8-Cylinder divisions and this event is on tap for Sunday, June 4. Making their season debut that afternoon, the Bob’s Subs & Pizza Outlaw Stocks are also on the card.

Points are awarded for the shows and following the first event of the season, Danny Cascioli and Harry O’Neill sit atop the standings.

The Enduro events will take place, rain or shine and the Outlaw Stock portion of the event will be rescheduled if the weather does not cooperate for their portion of the show. The Enduro portion of the event will only be postponed if the weather simply too miserable on race day.

Enduro drivers can save $10 by pre-registering. The pre-registration fee is $40 per event. If drivers are not pre-registered on race day, the fee to compete is $50. Pre registration is non-refundable if a driver pre registers and is unable to make the event. Enduro pre registration will only be refunded if the speedway postpones the event.

Upon arrival at the track, drivers will pull pills for their starting positions. All pre-registered drivers will start ahead of those who were not pre-registered. All drivers must visit the track office to sign in upon arrival to the track. Each driver will receive a slip with their starting position. A random roll call will take place at the drivers meeting. If a driver’s name is called and they are not present, they will be forced to start in the rear of the field. No exceptions.

Outlaw Stock drivers will pull pills for heat race starting positions and they will start straight up for the 30-lap feature.

There has been a rule amendment regarding Enduro tire tread wear and caster/camber. The updated rules are on the speedway website. Furthermore, based on positive feedback from the speedway’s last Enduro, which was held under the lights, track management has decided to change two of their summer Enduro dates to racing under the lights. The event that was scheduled for July 9 has been moved to the night of July 8 and their August 11th event has been moved to August the 10th.

The pit gates will swing open for all of the series events at 10 AM. The drivers meeting will take place at 12 noon and the Outlaw Stocks will have practice at 12:30 PM. Racing will kick off at 1:00 PM. The grandstands will open at noon.

Grandstand admission for each event is just $5. Pit admission is $25 and the transponder rental fee is $10.

The rules, payout and pre-registration list are listed at EvergreenRacewayPark.com. The deadline for pre-registration is Thursday, June 1.

The Outlaw Stock purse is prorated (plus sponsorship money), based on the number of cars. Outlaw Stock tech inspection will be handled by Modified driver, Paul Frantz.

St. Johns, PA (5/3/2017)- Although there hasn’t been a full “off season” at Evergreen Raceway, it’s been months since the Tour Type Modifieds shook the stands at the 1/3-mile asphalt oval. That will all change in less than a month, as the first of six American Rental Equipment Modified Series events are scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 21.

Many teams are excited about making their first Evergreen start of 2017, which will pay $2,000 and $175 to start, if 16 or more cars take the green flag. A wide variety of hot shoes from the Tri-state area are expected to compete and the action in the Modified events at Evergreen is always intense. There’s no doubt that the 50-lap show will be a barn burner.

The 2017 Evergreen Raceway Tire Rules will apply for this event. Those rules are posted on the speedway website under the rules link on the left hand side of the site. Tires are available at the track and can be purchased by cash, check or credit card (3% fee processing fee applies).

Drivers will pull pills for starting positions in a 10-lap heat race. The top six qualifiers will redraw for starting positions on the front stretch at intermission and the remainder of the field will start straight up in the 50-lap main event.

The top 15 drivers will qualify for the 50-lap main event through heat races and a consi will be held to determine the remaining five positions. A maximum of 20 cars will start the feature.   The Modified payout is listed on the left hand side of the speedway website.

The Barbush Automotive Street Stocks will hit the track for the first time this season and the Evan’s Roadhouse Four Cylinders will compete for 40 laps and the $450 to win prize money.

Grandstand admission for the May 21 event is just $15. Children 12 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult.   The pit gate will swing open at 10:30 AM and the pit entrance fee is $35. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and heat races will begin at 2 PM. The grandstand gates will open at 11:00 PM.

Open to all types of vehicles, the cost for the car corral is just $15. It’s only $10 to display a vehicle and $15 to be a vendor at the event. Spectator admission is just $2 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Drifting spectators will receive free admittance to the car show and flea market.

Awards will be presented during the afternoon of the show and music will be provided by speedway co-promoter, Gene Ostrowski.
