PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE TO BE PRESENT AT THE PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS & CASINO RACE OF CHAMPIONS AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY

-Four Cylinder Race to be the Pennsylvania State Police Four Cylinder Championship

North East, Pa. – (August 31, 2017) – The Pennsylvania State Police will be presented at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., during Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champion Weekend at the multi-million dollar 3/8-mile oval. The Pennsylvania State Police will be present in the midway to create and attract awareness to their Trooper programs in addition to potential recruitment. In addition to their presence in the midway the Pennsylvania State Police will sponsor the Four Cylinder race that will take place early Saturday and provide a squad car that will participate as a pace car for the Four Cylinder race and the 67th Annual Race of Champions 250.

“We are happy to welcome the Pennsylvania State Police to this event and welcome them as a partner with our Four Cylinder race at Lake Erie,” stated Joe Skotnicki, with the Race of Champions. “It is just an additional reflection into the recognition that this event is receiving, locally and throughout the region. We hope the Pennsylvania State Police are able to communicate their message to those who attend the event and create the awareness they are seeking.”

The Four Cylinder division has been added to the weekend of events and will be the first to race on Saturday morning.

AARN TO PRESENT BEST APPEARING CAR AWARD FOR THE 67th ROC

Trenton, N.J. – (August 22, 2017) – Area Auto Racing News of Trenton, N.J., will present the “Best Appearing” Car Award at the 67th Annual Race of Champions 250, a part of Presque Isle Downs and Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa.

The recipient of the award will receive a specialized plaque and a one-year subscription to Area Auto Racing News. In addition, the Area Auto Racing News publication will be available in the pit area and for fans in the grandstand area throughout the weekend.

LAP SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS BOOST RACE OF CHAMPIONS FUELED BY SUNOCO ASPHALT MODIFIED EVENTS

Buffalo, N.Y. – (August 2, 2017) – Two prominent events that are part of the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series fueled by Sunoco will have added bonuses in place when Race of Champions teams roll in to compete in them.

First up will be the Tommy Druar / Tony Jankowiak tribute race at Lancaster (N.Y.) National Speedway on Saturday, August 19. Erin McGrath, who is a car owner, took it upon herself to put a lap program into place that directly supports the racers. Laps start at $40 per lap. McGrath has already raised nearly $3,000 toward the event for the lap fund.

“We love modified racing and I enjoy supporting the sport” stated McGrath. Her husband is driver Tom McGrath, who also prepares the car Andy Jankowiak has run in all but one Race of Champions event in 2017. McGrath came out of retirement to wheel the car in that event Holland and will run it again at Lancaster on August 19. “It is fun and it helps support the teams and we know firsthand what it takes. All of the funds I collect go directly to the racers.”

IBetty Sherwood through the Spalding Foundation for Injured Driver’s continues the drive for the lap sponsorship program for the 67th Annual Race of Champions 250, a part of Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 30. Laps begin at $50 per lap.

“Modified Racing has played an integral role in our lives,” stated Sherwood. “The Race of Champions is an important event in the sport and the lap fund that goes with it is a wonderful part of that race. We are excited about the move to Lake Erie and looking forward to a great event.”
