WET WEATHER CANCELS WALL STADIUM AUTO RACING FOR SECOND STRAIGHT SATURDAY

 

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~  For a second straight Saturday strong forecasts for afternoon and evening rain  forced Wall Stadium Speedway officials to cancel the auto racing events scheduled for Saturday night (May 21). Saturday night auto racing will resume in one week on May 28.

When racing action returns on May 28 the Downs Ford Modified stock cars will headline the Memorial Day Weekend competition in twin 35-lap main events. The Snap On Sportsman cars will race in a 30-lapper and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks will all compete in a 25-lap main event. The first Demolition Derby of the year is also planned.

Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow. For this Memorial Day Weekend event only, if the current rainy Saturday weather pattern persists a rain date for the Saturday, May 28, events has been set for Sunday afternoon, May 29.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. MODIFIEDS AND TWIN LEGEND RACES HIGHLITE SCOUT NIGHT THIS SATURDAY (MAY 21) AT WALL STADIUM

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~  The Downs Ford Modified stock cars in a 40-lap feature and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars in Twin 25-lap main events take center stage at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (May 21) as the shore speedway presents “Scout Night” racing action. In honor of the youth organizations any boy or girl scout arriving at the ticket booth wearing a part of their uniform will be admitted free of charge. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.

On the speedway the Modified cars will compete in a 40-lap main event. Early season winners Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Ron Frees of Brick and Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the field into main event action. Defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson, former champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, Eric Mauriello of Howell and Brick’s Shawna Ingraham are also expected to be in the field.

Also in the spotlight will be the Legend cars in a pair of main events with defending champ Robert French of Howell, early season winner Louie Keraitis of Toms River and Edgewater’s Nick Van Wickle expected to lead the field.

The Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models in a 25-lapper will also see action, as will the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks in a 25-lap main event. The Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks are slated for a 25-lapper and the beautifully restored car of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club are slated for their first appearance of the season

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. Main events for all divisions to follow.

Action will then continue on Sunday (May 22) as Wall Stadium presents the “Sunday Small-Car Series” starting at noon.

IMPENDING WET WEATHER CANCELS WALL STADIUM SATURDAY NIGHT AUTO RACING

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~  Strong forecasts for afternoon and evening showers along with heavy thunderstorms have forced Wall Stadium Speedway officials to cancel the auto racing events scheduled for Saturday night (May 14). Saturday night auto racing will resume in one week on May 21.

When racing action returns on May 21 the Downs Ford Modified stock cars will headline the competition in a 40-lap main event and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars will also be in the spotlight in twin 25-lap feature races. The Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models, O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will all compete in 25-lap main events. The vintage cars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will also be on hand.
