CLAREMONT MODIFIED 10K EVENT NEARS; FIELD GROWS

Early Entry Deadline this Thursday

Claremont, NH (August 17, 2020): On Friday, August 28, Claremont Motorsports Park in Claremont, NH, will be the site of one of the most-anticipated Modified events of 2020. With $10,000 on the line, the Maurice Enterprises Racers Honoring Racers 100 will draw a talent-laden field. A joint effort between the Speedway, long-time promoter Dick Williams and The Racing Guys, the race will honor local legends like Dwight Jarvis, Bruce Batchelder, Peter Daniels and others.

Qualifying for the 100-lap event will include heat and consolation races. NHSTRA Sportsman Modifieds, Late Model Sportsmen, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Six Shooters will complete the night’s racing card. Feature racing will get under way at 7pm. General admission is $30 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 will be available at the track on race day. Other race details will be forthcoming and will be available by visiting Claremont Motorsports Park online. 

Championship drivers from race series like the Modified Tour, Race of Champions, Modified Racing Series and countless local and regional tracks have already filed entries including Ron Silk, Matt Hirschman, Les Hinckley, Chuck Hossfeld and Woody Pitkat. Other notables like Matt Swanson, Eric Goodale, Andy Jankowiak, Anthony Sesely, Kirk Alexander and Mike Willis are among the current 25 entrants. With the deadline upcoming, additional teams are expected.

Teams have until Thursday, August 20 to take advantage of the $100 early entry fee. Entries will be accepted up until race day for $150. Teams filing late entries, those received after August 26, will be required to start scratch in heat race qualifying. In addition to the lucrative $10,000 to win, the race will pay $1,100 to take the green. Specialty awards including the $200 Lu-Mac’s Package Store Hard Luck Award will also be on the line. Lap sponsorships have been secured to ensure that a purse is in place for the B-Main. Non-qualifiers will also receive a portion of the purse which exceeds $50,000.

The Racers Honoring Racers Maurice Enterprises 100  will pay tribute to drivers who made their names at Claremont Motorsports Park including Rusty Ball, Bruce Batchelder, Jack Bateman, Jerry Bly, Ronnie Bodge, Ernie Boudreau, Punky Caron, Peter Daniels, Danny Ferland, Goodwin Hannaford, Dwight Jarvis, Donnie Miller, Bobby Turner and Alan Whipple.
