Stafford Motor Speedway spent the entire day on Tuesday dropping tidbits of their 2021 season schedule on social media. The schedule includes multiple staple events, a full slate of weekly racing and a return of Pro Stocks to the half-mile.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will return to Stafford on three separate occasions — including for the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200 (April 25), Whelen Modified Tour 150 (August 6) and the NAPA Fall Final (September 25). The tour has been to Stafford in every year since the inception of the series (1985) except one year — 1988 — holding 32 previous races. In 2020, due to COVID-19, the tour only visited once, with Ron Silk winning the Fall Final.
On the Open Modified front, Stafford returns with four Open 80 Tour-Type Modified style races on May 14, June 11, July 9 and August 20.
Stafford’s schedule also includes a full slate of weekly racing for the SK Modifieds, SK Light Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Late Models and Street Stocks — headlined by a few special events.
The season begins with the annual NAPA Spring Sizzler, but that is only on Sunday, April 25. The day before, April 24, it is NAPA opening day with four weekly divisions (no SK Lights) and the return of Pro Stocks as a sanctioned Granite State Pro Stock Series event. One day later, the season opens for the SK Lights, along with the SK Modifieds second show of the weekend, the Vintage All Stars and the first Whelen Modified Tour date for the Spring Sizzler 200. Opening weekend will have two separate tickets.
Stafford’s Friday night slate opens on May 7, and runs through the end of September, with the champion set to be crowned with the finale of NAPA Championship Night on Friday, October 1. In the middle, they will hold major events like the 8th annual NAPA SK 5K (June 25), Street Stock Firecraker (July 2), Dunleavy’s Modifiedz Night (July 23), The Senator’s Cup SK Modified race (August 13), Late Model 50 (September 3rd) and the TC 13 SK Modified Shootout (September 10).
The NAPA Fall Final weekend will include racing on both Friday night and Saturday, headlined by the Whelen Modified Tour’s 150 lap feature.
