SHIRLEY, Mass. — Kevin Iannarelli is heading back to a familiar track, and has winning in mind this weekend in New England. The Modified ace will be heading to Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire, to compete in the 100-lap Modified Racing Series feature as part of the 56th annual Star Classic on Sunday, September 19. The race is the headliner of the final of three days of the Star Classic, known as one of the most prestigious weekends of short-track racing in the area.

Not only does Iannarelli already have a race under his belt at Star this season with the Tri Track Open Modified Series in May, the driver of the No. 27 machine put together one of the best performances of his racing career there last year in September at Star. Iannarelli jumped out front of the 100-lap Modified Racing Series feature right at the drop of the green, and led the race until lap 72. From there, he fell back a bit, but still recorded a solid top-five finish. In his career, Iannarelli is a former winner with the Star weekly Modified series, and knows the track well.

It’s like home for the Shirley, Massachusetts, driver.

“It’s always great to return to Star Speedway as Bobby Webber and his family do an incredible job with the track,” Iannarelli said. “I consider Star Speedway to be one of the best race tracks in the country. I’ve won a few weekly shows there, and came up just short with the Modified Racing Series last year. My team and I are ready to go back there and compete for the win and we hope to hold the trophy at the end of 100 laps. We should have a strong piece.”

Iannarelli has multiple sponsors that make his efforts possible. However, with the team heading to Star, this edition of the race day preview will spotlight Justin Belfiore Designs. Located in Plaistow, New Hampshire, Justin Belfiore Designs offers signs, truck lettering, wraps, pinstriping and more, specializing in motorsports wraps and designs. You can find out more information about the business by visiting them on Facebook.

“Justin Belfiore has been a long time friend of mine and supporter of my racing program for many years,” Iannarelli said. “Justin’s eyes for detail are second to none. He takes great pride in the work that he does, and that’s why I enjoy working with him on our design wrap for our car. He uses top-shelf equipment and materials and delivers nothing but the best for all of his customers.”

Iannarelli spent a stint down south working with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports, before moving back to New England and taking a job with iRacing.com, where he is the Associate Producer. Iannarelli is a former winner at Star Speedway, located in Epping, N.H., in their Tour Modified weekly division. He also has sponsorship from iRacing.com, Access Realty, VTANG, Lucas Oil & others.

A full schedule of Sunday action at Star includes Modified Racing Series practice from 11-11:30 a.m., followed by the start of qualifying heats at 1 p.m. The feature race for the Modified Racing Series is estimated to begin around 3:30 p.m. The Star Speedway Woody’s Auto Street Stocks will wrap their championship as part of the day, while the Six Shooters, EXIT Realty Pro Trucks and Classic Lites are also set for competition.
