SEEKONK, Mass. — Tri Track Open Modified Series officials confirmed on Tuesday a seven-race schedule for the 2022 season. The series will visit six different tracks in four states spreading from April through the end of October, with the champion coronation set to return to Seekonk Speedway on October 22.

The series will continue to showcase the top Modified talent in the Northeast region with some of the most lucrative purses and intense side-by-side racing at some of the area’s best short tracks.

“Our seven-race schedule is a strong one for modified racers and fans,” Wayne Darling, Managing Partner of the Tri Track Open Modified Series, said. “We’re looking forward to returning to places like Monadnock, Star and Seekonk — where we have been running for years. All of those tracks are committed to Tri Track and we look forward to heading there.”

“Headlining events at Thunder Road and Stafford as part of their marquee weekends is an honor for our series. Returning to Waterford, we couldn’t be happier to showcase Tour-Type Modified racing for those dedicated fans. It should be another great year of racing for the Tri Track Open Modified Series.”

The 2022 season kicks-off in a big way in New Hampshire.

The Tri Track Modifieds will invade Monadnock Speedway to showcase the series in front of the New Hampshire race fans as part of Monadnock’s big opening weekend on Saturday, April 30, 2022. In 2021, two events on Monadnock’s high-banks were won by Sam Rameau and Chase Dowling.

A month later, Tri Track will be part of the 59th annual Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 29. The Granite Capital 100 will be the first time that Tour-Type Modifieds have competed at Thunder Road since 2010, and the inaugural stop there for Tri Track.

Seekonk Speedway’s historic Open Wheel Wednesday returns to the calendar on Wednesday, June 29, with the $10,000 to win special set to return in Massachusetts. Tri Track will also conclude the season at Seekonk with the annual Haunted Hundred event on October 22.

Tri Track’s three other events will bring the drivers to three well-recognized tracks in the area for major events. Star Speedway is set to host the 11th annual SBM Classic on July 23, as Matt Hirschman will look to repeat and add another win to his resume at the Epping, New Hampshire, oval. Star’s 2021 Tri Track SBM special showcased a total winning purse for Hirschman of over $17,000.

New London-Waterford Speedbowl will host the series for the first time in six years on Saturday, August 6. The Shoreline oval located in Waterford, Connecticut, operates with some of the top racing in the area. Tri Track will also return to Stafford Motor Speedway for the second time in history, headlining the NAPA Fall Final on Saturday, September 24. In 2019, the series ran the inaugural Call Before You Dig Modified Classic 81 at Stafford, won by Chase Dowling. The series will be joined by Stafford’s historic SK Modified division and other classes.

The series will release more information about each specific event closer to the dates. Stay tuned to social media for the latest offseason news. Fans can also follow TriTrackModifieds.com, where you can purchase Tri Track apparel, check out the latest news, and more.
