LANCASTER, NY (January 11, 2022) … All stock car divisions will be required to have a working transponder to race at New York International Raceway Park at Lancaster Speedway & Dragway for the 2022 season.

For 2022, the speedway will be having a new My Laps transponder system to enhance the timing and scoring for the stock car program. Drivers will have the opportunity to purchase a transponder or use their own My Laps transponder.

“Every division will be utilizing transponders in 2022”, comments Race Director Jim Ling. “Race teams can reach out if they need to, or would like to purchase their own transponder”, Ling said. The addition of the transponder system will not only speed up any lengthy delays in the program but will make the overall racing program more efficient.

“We will have a handful of transponders that we will rent every race night”, comments Brian from the stock car management team. The transponder system is just some of the new improvements coming to the stock car program at NYIRP.

The speedway has also launched its new Twitter account. For up-to-date information, you can now follow NYIRP on Twitter @NYIRPLancaster to go along with the other social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.

Eleven race dates will headline the 2022 stock car schedule at NYIRP, including the 33rd and 34th edition of the US Open for tour-type Modifieds, the New York Super Stock Series (NYSS), and the Small Block Super Modified Championship Series. The complete schedule is available on the NYIRP Facebook page. The 2022 season will get underway with the Awards/Registration Party in the spring. More details will be released in the coming weeks.
