VERNON, NY – Racing continues at Utica-Rome Speedway this Friday night (July 15) as the Super Gen Products CRSA 305 Sprint Cars join the program.

Westmoreland Golf Club presents Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation GraphiX Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders joining the 305 Sprint Car contingent.

Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard continues to head the Sunoco Modified class, leading by 67-markers over Gloversville, N.Y.’s Rocky Warner. Sheppard and York, N.Y.’s Justin Wright each claimed one of the ‘Twin 20’ Modified features this past Friday night.

Canandaigua, N.Y.’s Darryl Ruggles was victorious the last time the CRSA Sprints visited Utica-Rome Speedway back on June 24. Ruggles outgunned Jeff Trombley and Kyle Pierce for the victory – the first of his career at the ‘Home of Heroes.’

In seven races thus far this season, seven different drivers have been victorious on the CRSA Sprint Car tour.

The CRSA appearance offers $1,000 to the winner as part of the I-90 Pit Stop Challenge Series.

Durhamville, N.Y.’s Matt Janczuk continued his hot streak, claiming his third consecutive Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman feature event this past Friday – the 61st of his Utica-Rome Speedway career.

The win pulled Janczuk to within 14-points of South New Berlin, N.Y.’s Payton Talbot atop the standings. Rome, N.Y.’s Chris Mackey rounds out the top three in the championship chase.

Jay Corbin claimed his second Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks feature win of the 2022 campaign this past Friday night. Corbin also set a new track record in Pro Stock competition at the Route 5 oval, setting a lap of 21.641 seconds, just .003 seconds quicker than the previous record.

Grand Gorge, N.Y.’s Beau Ballard continues to lead the championship battle, maintaining a 36-point advantage ahead of Bret Belden. Corbin rounds out the top three, just four markers behind Belden for second.

Seth Martin grabbed his third Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman victory of the season on Friday night. The win moved Martin to second in the standings, just 10-points behind South New Berlin, N.Y.’s Zack Welch.

Corey Valade (DOHC) and Justin Pope (SOHC) each claimed another win with the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, the second consecutive week the pair swept Victory Lane.

Matt Bukovan continues to lead the championship standings; however, his lead has shrunk to just four points over David DeNova at the top of the standings.
