MILFORD, Conn. – A late schedule adjustment for six-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby will see the veteran compete in the Tommy Baldwin Racing No. 7NY this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Mayhew Tools, Coby’s primary sponsor with Doug Coby Racing, will be on the side of the famed Modified for the battle at the Magic Mile. Founded in 1856, Mayhew Tools is the oldest punch and chisel manufacturer in the United States, growing their extensive professional grade, American made product line to include pry bars, pneumatics, cable ties, and more.

Coby has three starts with Baldwin’s race team so far in 2022 and has finished inside the top-five in all of them – winning twice. Baldwin himself, and his team, have been on fire since the start of the season. They are pulling away in the owners championship standings and have four victories with three different drivers – including Coby, Mike Christopher Jr. and the most recent winner at Wall Stadium last weekend, Jimmy Blewett.

Coby knows how to get the job done at the 1.058-mile oval – known for drafting and tight racing –  with lead changes often occurring multiple times per lap in the final stages. Coby has four victories at New Hampshire in 35 starts, and has been top-five over 35 percent of the time.

“You have to be in the right position for a shot at the win inside the last 10 laps,” Coby said. “If you’re not in the top-four cars with 10 laps to go, you’re probably not going to be in position to make it happen. The game we all play for the first 90 laps is seeing where your car is working and how you can get yourself into position. Tommy and the team will have a great car prepared for us. There are a lot of guys that run well at Loudon, but I’m confident we will have a shot. In a sense, Tommy is now feeling what we felt with the No. 2 team and what Justin Bonsignore has felt with the No. 51 lately – having a chance to win every single race. The cars have been great. I can tell Tommy is satisfied with the work he has put in. He’s spent a lot of time chasing cars that won all the time, and now he’s there – seeing how much all of their hard work is paying off. He’s always had great cars – now he’s just winning at a consistent pace.”

New Hampshire’s race day events will take place over two days, beginning on Friday, July 15 with practice from 3:15-4:30 p.m. and Mayhew Tools Qualifying at 6:45 p.m. The green flag for the Whelen Manufactured in America 100 is scheduled for 6 p.m., live on FloRacing.TV. The event will take place just after the NASCAR Xfinity Series Crayon 200.
