SWEDESBORO, NJ – South Jersey high banks.

On Tuesday, July 26, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco returns to Bridgeport Motorsports Park to tackle the high banks in the ‘South Jersey Shootout.’

The STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region return to action at the four-tenths-mile oval for Round No. 5 of the 2022 South Region $15,000 championship battle.

The 50-lap, $5,000-to-win feature event will pay $500 to take the green flag, with a purse reaching north of $26,000.

Ringoes, N.J.’s Ryan Godown leads the South Region standings into his home track. The ‘Ringoes Rocket’ is also an eight time-winner at his Saturday night stomping ground in 2022 and the defending champion of the speedway.

Godown holds a 15-point advantage over Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard, the current North Region point leader.

Boyertown, Pa.’s Mike Gular rounds out the top three in South Region standings, a distant 72-markers off the pace set by Godown.

Sheppard was the runner-up in last year’s ‘South Jersey Shootout,’ coming home second to Boyertown, Pa.’s Ryan Watt. The win for Watt was the sixth of his STSS career.

The 2021 edition of the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ was the only one of its kind on the current configuration at Bridgeport.

Of the previous five trips to the South Jersey facility before the 2021 visit; four were contested on the old five-eighths-mile with one coming on the inner three-eighths-mile in 2018.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman join the program for Round No. 3 of the Belmont’s Garage South Region. The 25-lap affair will pay $1,500 to the winner and $100-to-start.

Newtown, Pa.’s Joe Toth holds a slim five-point advantage over Edgewater Park, N.J.’s Nick Van Wickle. Belle Mead, N.J.’s Justin Grosso rounds out the top three.

Ringoes, N.J.’s Ryan Godown Jr. – the most recent South Region winner at New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway – won last year’s STSS Crate 602 Sportsman feature at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

The entire night of racing, along with every STSS race in 2022, will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).

Bridgeport Motorsports Park is located at 83 Floodgate Rd in Swedesboro, NJ 08085. The official website is www.bridgeportmotorsportspark.com/ and can be reached by phone at 856.467.4407.
