Lancaster N.Y. – (September 14, 2022) – Race of Champions Modified Series management and Lancaster (N.Y.) Motorplex ownership has agreed to reschedule the previously canceled Race of Champions Modified Series portion of the US Open.

The 75-lap race will take place on Saturday, October 1 with an inclement weather date of Sunday, October 2, 2022. The date became available after a drag race that was originally scheduled on Saturday, October 1 was canceled and removed from the Lancaster schedule.

“In good faith, we tried to find a suitable date that worked on Sunday during the inclement weather, unfortunately, due to all the information we had, there was not one that was suitable,” stated Joe Skotnicki, Race of Champions. “The October 1 date was not available due to a previously scheduled drag race at the track. Within the last 48 hours, the track schedule changed, and the track’s ownership made the date available.”

Race of Champions Modified Series management is working with Hoosier Racing Tire and Hoosier Racing Tire Canada, the tire distributor in effort to secure tires, as tire shortages still exist throughout the industry.

The Race of Champions Modified Series will be joined by Lancaster Motorplex weekly divisions.

The fan gates open at 11:00 am, with racing set for 1:00 pm and the Race of Champions Modified Series 34th Annual US Open is tentatively scheduled for 3:30 pm.
