Medford NY -The Blewett name has been a part of Speed Weeks of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway for many years.
This year Jimmy Blewett will be part of a 2 car Gershow Motorsports effort and he is coming to Florida ready to win races.
Jimmy is excited to head south with Gershow Motorsports which has teamed up with the John Blewett Inc to form the Scrap Family race team. Gershow Motorsport will bring their familiar white race cars numbered 2 and 21 for the trip.
Jimmy’s experience and the Gershow resources look to make this a formidable team in February and possibly throughout the rest of the season.
Jimmy wanted to thank to thank Grandpops and Pop Pop for years of learning giving him a great opportunity to win races.
The team will also have experience in the pit with crew chief Stash Butova and car chief Mike Bologna backing up Jimmy and the Joseph Bertuccio owned team. Heading south with the team will also be crew member Honda Rob. Rob has worked on several Modified teams at his home track Riverhead Raceway and on the NASCAR WMT tour.
The Gershow Motorsports team will start their week of racing at the Bronson Speedway February 9th with Jimmy behind the wheel of the #21 machine. Once the team moves over to the New Smyrna Speedway for five nights of Tour Modified action Jimmy will switch to the #2 Modified to finish the week.
Right now with Jimmy switching to the #2 at New Smyrna the #21 is an open seat. Team owner Joe Bertuccio has not yet finalized who will drive the car. He hopes to announce the driver once sponsorship is signed on.
