Jukasa Motor Speedway Elated to Crown a National Champion

HAGERSVILLE, ON – The lauded Pinty’s Fall Brawl will return for a third straight year to close out the Jukasa Motor Speedway and NASCAR Pinty’s Series season on Saturday September 28th.

The evening’s twin-bill will showcase the 200-lap season finale for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series where the National Champ will be crowned as well as a 50-lap invitational for the perennially competitive Limited Late Model division.

“The reception from our fans was overwhelmingly positive last season on Fall Brawl weekend – so I couldn’t be happier putting together the 2019 version of the event that looks to be another epic battle right down to the last lap,” smiles Jukasa Motor Speedway Promoter Alex Nagy.

Pinty’s Delicious Foods will once again return as the presenting sponsor of the season-ending Championship race that is becoming a must attend event with great exciting races capped off with a post race fireworks display.

“Pinty’s has been with us since we first opened in 2017 and I can’t say enough about what their support means to us,” says Nagy. “This will be our third year hosting the NASCAR Pinty’s Series Championship Finale and our second year putting together a large-scale Limited Late Model invitational”

“It is without question a can’t miss season ending event,” continues Nagy. “I couldn’t think of a better way to close out our 2019 season and I hope all of our fans and competitors are every bit as excited as we are.”

Jukasa Ready for First Ever Mid-Week Special

HAGERSVILLE, ON – Thursday, July 25th, Jukasa Motor Speedway will host its first ever weeknight event, featuring the APC United Late Model Series as well as the first ever Jukasa Mini Stock Invitational.

The 100-lap APC Series event will undoubtedly attract some of Ontario’s best Pro Late Model competitors as well as a special appearance by former NASCAR star Kenny Wallace piloting a car prepared by longtime series standout Jamie Cox. “This is a good car and this series is loaded with talent and I am excited to be back to one of the first tracks I raced at and meet the fans” mentions Kenny Wallace.

Thursday’s race will serve as Round 6 of the APC Series schedule and will play a pivotal role in the race for the 2019 tour championship – as current leader Billy Schwartzenburg will enter with a narrow 2-point lead over former Delaware Speedway weekly champion Matt Pritiko.

“Every APC Series race we’ve hosted so far has brought our fans to their feet and left people talking for days,” says Jukasa Motor Speedway General Manager Alex Nagy with a smile. “I have every reason to believe that this Thursday will be another race that people will walk out of our speedway talking about for a long time”

“The APC Series has been the most talked-about tour in Ontario this year and we can’t wait to see them write another chapter in their season this Thursday night,” adds Nagy. “We’ve never hosted a mid-week show before. But, when we started throwing the idea around of making one happen, I knew that having the APC Series on the card was a must-have”

The evening’s undercard will feature a Mini Stock Invitational that has drawn interest from teams across Ontario. The inaugural race for the division at ‘Canada’s Crown Jewel’ will undoubtedly be one of the most sought-after victories for any competitor.

“We have over 40 teams entered for this race and I haven’t been able to walk into a speedway all year without having someone come up to me and talk about this race,” says Nagy. “The buzz is absolutely out there for this one. We’re going to have one of the best Mini Stock fields that Ontario has to offer.”

TOMMY CATALANO TAKES HOME FIRST RACE OF CHAMPIONS ASPHALT MODIFIED SERIES WIN AT JUKASA MOTOR SPEEEDWAY

– Catalano Scores Second Major Win in Canada –

Nelles Corners, Ontario, Canada – (July 14, 2019) – Tommy Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., has been knocking on the door to win a Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series race for the past several seasons and this past Saturday at the ultra-modern Jukasa Motor Speedway in Southern Ontario, Catalano broke the door down and made his way to victory lane.

Catalano sped past veteran racer and defending Series champion, Chuck Hossfeld of Ransomville, N.Y., on lap 67 after a restart following a rain delay, then held off a charging Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, N.Y., to claim his first Series victory. It was Catalano’s second Race of Champions victory on Canadian soil as we won at Delaware Speedway, near London, Ontario in 2017 in the Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Modified Series.

“They were breathing down my neck, but I’m not sure I was breathing,” Catalano said smiling from victory lane. “This was a huge night for us and I just need to thank my Mom and my Dad, our entire family and friends, for giving me such a great racecar to drive. This has been a long time working and we couldn’t ask for a better way to end the night. This is great for all of us.”

Hossfeld started from the pole and led the field for the first 66 circuits fending off challenges from Eric Beers of Northampton, Pa., Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Catalano. A rain shower brought out the red flag for 1 hour and 5 minutes, before the race resumed.

When the race did resume, Catalano made his move and went to the top spot. In the closing stages of the race Jankowiak made several bids at the top spot, however, Catalano fended him off. Emerling wound up third.

Hossfeld and Scott Wylie of Blasdell, N.Y., rounded out the top-five.

Hossfeld posted the Speed51.com “Top of the Board” overall fast time in group time trials with a lap of 17.404 seconds with an average speed of 129.28 mph.

Emering, Hossfeld and Catalano won the qualifying races.
