Evergreen Planning to Host Pre-Season Four-Banger Sunday

St. Johns, PA (2/1/2016)- Thus far the 2016 racing season for the new management of Evergreen Raceway in St. Johns, PA has been a success. From their first Enduro in January to pre-registrations pouring in for their next Enduro, tagged ‘March Enduro Madness’, the year is off to a great start. And, it’s only getting better.

After recent discussions amongst key track officials, Evergreen has decided to host a non-points pre-season event for their regular Four Cylinder and INEX Legends divisions on Sunday, March 20. The INEX Bandoleros are also on the card.

Both, the Four Cylinders and INEX Legends drivers will draw for starting positions in an eight lap heat race, their heat race finish, mixed with a redraw will determine the starting lineup for their 30-lap main event. The number of feature laps for the INEX Bandoleros will be decided on race day, based on car count.

“Although the track officials have run one race day together so far, this show will be a great opportunity for the officials of a regular Sunday show to work together, prior to the start of the points season”, noted track manager, Jason Makarewicz.

“It just makes perfect sense and by then, many people will have their cars done and as long as the weather cooperates for us, it should be a great show and test for the drivers and also for the officials.”

Pit admission is set at $35 per person for the ‘Four-Banger Sunday’ show on March 20th and grandstand admission will be $7. Kids 10 years of age and younger are always admitted for free and there is a $2 discount for veterans, handicapped and active military members.

There is no driver registration fee to compete, as the pit admission fee covers that. The speedway utilizes a Westhold scoring system. If needed, scoring transponders will be available for rental for the cost of $10.

With the exception of the Tour Type Modifieds, the speedway recently released divisional payouts. The divisions racing on March 20th will be paid based on those pay scales, which can be viewed at the track website. The INEX Bandolero will receive a trophy.

The pit gates will open at 10:30 AM and practice will start at 12:30 PM. The grandstands will be open at 12:30 PM and heat races will kick off at 2 PM.

The concession stand will be open for business the day of the event.

Even before this much anticipated event, many drivers and fans are very excited for the ‘March Enduro Madness’ event that is slated for Saturday, March 12. The track is hosting a $10 discount for pre-registration for the Enduro. The pre-registration form is on the speedway website and must be mailed in, along with the $40 pre-registration fee. Drivers may also register at the track the day of the event for $50. The transponder rental fee is $10 and pit admission is set at $25. The pit gates will swing open at 9:00 AM.

The grandstands are slated to open at 12 noon and grandstand admission is just $5. Children 10 years of age and younger will be admitted for FREE.

The speedway is seeking billboard and divisional sponsors for the entire season. If interested, please visit www.evergreenracewaypark.com for contact information. Please like their Facebook page as well.
