FONDA, NY – The champ is here.
Rocky Warner, who won the 2019 Sunoco Modified championship at Fonda Speedway, made history as the first official entrant for the $53,000-to-win Fonda 200 on September 26-28, 2019. The event makes a bold return to the dirt Modified schedule this fall with a purse structure totaling more than $125,000.
Gloversville, N.Y.’s Warner etched his name in the Track of Champions record books this season by earning his first title in the headline Modified division. Warner now has championships in Modified, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock competition at the half-mile oval.
‘The Flying Squirrel’ and car owner Jake Spraker teamed for five victories during the season at Fonda with their Pro Power Racing Engines-powered No. 1J Teo-Pro car and clinched the title one week prior to Championship Night.
With registration for the 200 now open, Warner was first to throw his name on the roster with a huge $53,000 top prize looming.
