GEORGETOWN, DE – A soaking, daylong rainfall on Saturday has nixed Sunday’s (March 3) Open Practice at Georgetown Speedway.

A thoroughly saturated surface will not allow the test and tune, which would have been the second of the weekend, to take place.

“Taking a look at the conditions of the track and grounds late Saturday afternoon, there was no way the Open Practice could go off as scheduled Sunday,” promoter Brett Deyo said.

Attention will now turn to the Jake Marine Memorial with two days of on-track activity Friday (March 8) and Saturday (March 9).

Friday night consists of Open Practice with gates opening at 4 p.m. and track time slated for 6-9 p.m.

On Saturday, attention turns to the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Jake Marine Memorial, featuring the STSS Modifieds in a 40-lap, $8,500-to-win main to launch the NJ Quality Drywall South Region and Ollie’s Overall Championship plus the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman racing in Round No. 1 of the Belmont’s Garage South Region for $1,850 to win, Delaware Super Trucks and Feebs Distilling Delmarva Chargers.
