BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The racing action has been very competitive to start the 2024 season at Grandview Speedway, and the schedule will move into a busy stretch with some exciting action planned for the month of May.
The entertainment kicks off on Saturday, May 4 with a two-division show featuring the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman in a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring qualifying events for both classes leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.
Pit gates will open at 3:30 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 4:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 5:30 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 6:30 pm.
Grandview Speedway management is reminding everyone of the starting times this week. A switch to a 6:30 pm start time will be used to start the month of May, and management will monitor the situation as far as weather and track conditions are concerned, making any necessary adjustments to the time schedule. Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
The second weekend in May will feature two days of racing beginning on Friday, May 10, and will feature Round 2 with the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Slingshots starting at 7 pm. Pit gates open at 2 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 6 pm. Grandstand admission will be $10, with children ages 12 and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $30 for the Friday event.
This will be followed by another program on Saturday, May 11, which will feature a rare triple-header, as the wingless USAC East Coast Sprint Series will make their only visit of the year joining the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman in a fantastic action packed race program starting at 6:30 pm.
All three classes will run qualifying races leading into the 30-lap Modified main event and the 25-lap Sportsman and USAC Sprint feature races.
The third weekend on Saturday, May 18, will be another two-division program under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banner, as the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will be competing in a double program topped by a 30-lap Modified and 25-lap Sportsman main event.
The Saturday, May 18 program will also see the second of the monthly fan participation Trivia nights, where questions about Grandview Speedway racing will be asked, and fans will be able to win some cool prizes, race tickets, or gift cards.
The Memorial Day Holiday weekend will be a special one at Grandview Speedway with a Saturday event followed by a special Thunder on the Hill Series race post Memorial Day on Tuesday, May 28.
The Saturday, May 25 event features another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program including the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, plus the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars making their first Saturday night visit of the year.
The show on Saturday, May 25 will include qualifying events leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, while the Vintage cars will run a feature event only.
The month ends with a huge event, the first Thunder on the Hill Racing Series program of the year featuring the Kyle Larson/Brad Sweet Kubota High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series on Tuesday, May 28 starting at 7:30 pm with a rain date of Wednesday, May 29.
The program will feature some of the top 410 Sprint Car drivers in the country battling it out against the top Pennsylvania drivers in this high profile racing event on the high-banked one-third-of-a-mile raceway.
The 410 Sprint drivers will participate in time trials and qualifying races leading into the 35-lap $20,000 to win feature race. Rico Abreu was the winner in the first Kubota High Limit Series appearance last season, edging out Kyle Larson for the victory.
Adult grandstand tickets are $40, children 6-11 are $20, while kids 5 and under are free. Pit admission is $45, and no license is required. Advanced grandstand tickets for this event are available at www.tickethoss.com.
Vintage Modified and Sportsman cars will also join the racing event each participating in a 15-lap feature event only.
Racing action last Saturday night April 27 was cancelled due to mid-afternoon rain that moved through the area just before race time. With no new results from this past weekend, Jeff Strunk continues to lead the T.P. Trailer Modified point chase, while Adrianna Delliponti is number one in the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman standings heading into the month of May.
