FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL MID-SUMMER CLASSIC MODIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP PAYS $10,000 TO WIN PLUS SPORTSMAN ON AUGUST 10

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Two nights of racing this weekend plus a Kid’s money scramble on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

The T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman will be in action this Saturday night at Grandview Speedway as part of a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program starting at 7:30 pm.

The racing program on Saturday, August 3 will include qualifying events for both classes leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature, and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Saturday’s program will also include something extra for the younger fans, as there will be a kid’s money scramble at intermission. The kids will be divided into four age groups and sent scrambling to pick up as many scattered coins as they can in a certain amount of time! It was amazing last year how quick the kids were, and how much fun they had scooping the coins up off the race track like little vacuum cleaners!

This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted by Whippy and Jennifer Umbenhauer. The drivers scheduled to participate include Modified driver Eric Kormann and Sportsman drivers Dylan and Decker Swinehart.

The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area from 5-6 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.

Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

The weekend of racing will actually begin on Friday, August 2 as another Outlaw Racing Series Enduro/Vintage double program will be presented along with the addition of the Xcel 600 Modifieds.

On Friday, grandstand admission for adults is $10, children ages 12 and under are free, while pit admission is $30. Pit gates open at 2 pm, while grandstand gates open at 5 pm, and racing starts at 7 pm.

This past Saturday night Brett Kressley picked up his fifth T.P. Trailer Modified feature win of the season, tops in the division, while other winners on the season include Louden Reimert with three victories.

The competition has been keen this year with seven different winners, as Mike Mahaney, John Willman, Bobby Trapper Jr., Cody Manmiller, and Nate Brinker have all picked up one feature win. Eric Kormann and Doug Manmiller each have one victory in Thunder on the Hill Modified action.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division has been just as action packed as the Modifieds, as eleven different drivers have reached victory lane this season lead by point leader Logan Watt and Gavyn Krupp who have two wins each.

Drivers with one win each include Kenny Bock, Brian Hirthler, Mark Kemmerer, Jesse Landis, Addison Meitzler, Colton Perry, Zach Steffey, Jared LaBagh, and this past week saw Dylan Swinehart win in a photo finish on Saturday night, adding his name to the winner’s list.

Saturday August 10 will feature the 54th annual 50-lap Forrest Rogers Memorial for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds paying a whopping $10,000 to the race winner, in an event honoring the man who created and started Grandview Speedway. The race program will also feature the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman starting at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission will be $30, students 10-15 with ID are $15, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

The fireworks display that was to be a part of the Forrest Rogers Memorial program has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict with the company scheduled to set them off.

Since the 1960’s, Grandview Speedway has been presenting exciting wheel to wheel NASCAR stock car racing every Saturday Night starting in April and running through October, plus special events. Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road, Bechtelsville, Pa. 19505, just off Route 100, ten miles north of Pottstown, Pa.
