Statesville NC (January 29th, 2025)–The Daytona ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway is set to kick off the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season in just a few short weeks. Preparations for the marquee event are well underway at the Statesville, North Carolina shop of KLAS Motorsports.
The team recently took part in a two-day open test session at Daytona with very positive results. Regular driver Andy Jankowiak was joined by development drivers Vincent Arthur and A.J. Waller for the session. Jankowiak placed seventh on the speed charts in the team’s #73A Ford while Arthur ranked ninth on the board with the team’s #73B Chevrolet. Waller also had a successful test showing impressive lap times in the single car sessions.
Leaving Daytona with two cars in the top 10 of speed has the team confident going into February’s race. The team also gathered data and learned a few tricks during the session to better prepare for the February 15th. This year’s Daytona race will be Jankowiak’s third for the team and he is very happy with the progress that he has seen since the birth of the operation.
“Crew chief Mike Dayton, Davey (Riendeau) and everyone at the shop built two real hot rods (for the test),” Jankowiak recently told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “There is a lot of experience in the pit area (within our team) coaching me to do what it takes to put together a fast lap. There is great equipment being put together by KLAS Motorsports. It’s a pretty cool deal to be a part of. I’m blessed to be one of the lucky ones…I’ve always wanted to be at a track like this. I’m having the time of my life. I’m living my dream.”
While the #73 entry of Jankowiak is officially set for Daytona, KLAS Motorsports is also exploring the possibility of fielding a second entry for the event for its first time ever. If the right opportunity presents itself for the team, competitive equipment is ready to make the trip to Daytona.
The 2025 ARCA Menards Series season will be televised live on the Fox, FS1 and FS2 networks starting with Daytona, which will air live on Fox at Noon ET on February 15th. The series schedule will also be broadcast live on the Fox Sports app.
