Milestone Mod Event: Short Track Super Series Set for Race No. 200 in Florida

LAKE CITY, FL – It started on April 6, 2014, at N.Y.’s Orange County Fair Speedway.

This February, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco celebrates a milestone with its 200th Modified event at All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Fla.

At the conclusion of the 2024 season, 198 STSS Modified events had been contested at 36 different tracks.

Night No. 2 of the ‘Sunshine Swing’ at All-Tech will register as Modified event No. 200 in the history of the series.

·        Thirty-six different tracks have hosted the series.

·        The STSS has run events in 11 different states and two Canadian provinces: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Vermont, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Quebec, Canada and Ontario, Canada.

·        Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway has presented more STSS events than any other track with 24, including the most recent race on Nov. 2, 2024.

·        Forty-two different drivers have won a series race.

·        Matt Sheppard is the all-time leading winner with 50 victories. Stewart Friesen is a close second on the list with 48.

·        Two drivers were first-time winners in ’24: Alex Yankowski at N.J.’s Bridgeport Motorsports Park and David Hebert at Autodrome Granby in Quebec.

·        Andy Bachetti was the inaugural series winner at Orange County in April 2014.

The 12th season for the Short Track Super Series gets the green flag at All-Tech Raceway with the sixth ‘Sunshine Swing’ for STSS Modifieds and Sportsman Feb. 4-8. A Tuesday (Feb. 4) open practice precedes four consecutive nights of racing.

In March, attention turns to the Northeast with the ‘Speed Showcase’ at Pa.’s Port Royal Speedway March 14-15 and the ’60 Over Special’ at N.J.’s Bridgeport Motorsports Park March 22.

The ’25 STSS schedule includes the ‘Sunshine Swing’ in Florida plus HYTORC of New York Modified North Region, NJ Quality Drywall Modified South Region, Madsen Overhead Doors Sportsman North Region and Belmont’s Garage Sportsman South Region.
