(Forestville, PA 3-23-25) Practice does indeed make perfect and racers planning to compete in the upcoming season at Big Diamond Speedway are encouraged to take advantage of a full day of open practice on Sunday, March 30, from noon to 3:00 pm.
All things considered Practice Day can be thought of as one of the more important outings of the season as for most it will mark the first time on track in 2025 and with ample time allotted, drivers can actually get in more laps in that span then they would on a regular race night meaning diverse things can be ascertained from how the car handles to changes in set-ups to trying different lines on the track and more.
Likewise, rookies can make the most of the day by getting adjusted to new surroundings.
For fans who are admitted free to the grandstands, it gives them the first glimpse of what to look forward to from seeing their favorite drivers back on track to checking out the newest entries and some exciting new paint schemes.
Last year gave a good indication just how important practice was when over 60 teams took part in the day’s activities.
Of course, it also builds on the eagerness of the off-season wait finally coming to an end and the anticipation of the week ahead as in just five days on Friday, April 4 the 2025 Season Opener at Big Diamond Speedway gets underway with the Thaw Brawl.
The Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds headline the night with their feature awarding $4053-to-win. The USS Achey 602 Crate Sportsman will challenge for a $1053 prize, while the Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners will be battling for top payout of $453. Furthermore, the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman class will be in action.
Practice Day is open to any race car with a roll-cage. Pits will open at 10:30 am and are $35 per person. As noted, grandstand admission is free.
A reminder also that Sunday will be the final day to reserve seats for the 2025 season. Reservations will take place from 11:00 am to noon.
For the 53rd season opener on Friday, April 4, pit gates will open at 5:00 pm and grandstands at 5:30 pm. Hot laps will begin at 7:15 followed by heats. All heat starting spots will be set by random draw. Pit admission is $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members and $45 for all non-members. Adult general admission is $20 and kids 16 and under are admitted for free.
Coming up on Friday, April 11, it will be the Fritz Roehrig Memorial Money in the Mountains which is also Dukmen’s Enterprise Night.
The Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds will be contesting in a 50-lap/$10,000-to-win main event with the USS Achey 602 Crate Sportsman cars racing for a $1000 winner’s share. Also on the card will be the Red White and Blue Auto’s Inc., Roadrunners and the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Sportsman.
