BRIDGEPORT, NJ – Talkin’ about practice.
On Friday night, Bridgeport Motorsports Park opened its ‘60 Over Special’ weekend in memory of legendary racer turned promoter Doug Hoffman with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Modifieds and Sportsman taking part in timed practice rounds.
Twenty-two STSS Modifieds and 32 STSS Sportsman took advantage of the track time on the high-banked four-tenths-mile oval.
The fastest competitors in three rounds of STSS Modified and Sportsman practice transferred directly into the Saturday (March 22) Beyea Custom Headers redraws.
STSS Modified quick timers were:
· Dominic Buffalino (16.304 seconds)
· Logan Watt (16.430 seconds)
· Billy Osmun III (16.425 seconds)
STSS Sportsman quick timers were:
· Matt Peck (17.580 seconds)
· Ron Solomon (17.423 seconds)
· Stephen Kemery (17.297 seconds)
On Saturday, STSS Modifieds race 60 laps for a $6,060 top prize, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green flag in Race No. 2 of the NJ Quality Drywall South Region. STSS Sportsman have a 44-lap main offering a massive $4,444 top prize.
Pit gates open at noon. Grandstand gates are unlocked at 1:30 p.m. Dirt Draft hot laps are slated for 2:30 p.m., with racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $30 (Adults), $15 (Students ages 10-15) and Kids 9 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $45.
