BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Grandview Speedway has hosted seven VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorials, and so far there have been seven different winners, will the trend continue?
The VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker is run each year to honor the late track owner and promoter who, along with his family ran the Speedway for over 50 years, taking it to national prominence before his death in 2017.
The inaugural event in 2018 saw invader Stewart Friesen score the victory followed to the finish by Mike Gular, Craig Von Dohren, Ryan Watt, and Frank Cozze.
The second running of the memorial in 2019 saw another invader win, as Matt Sheppard picked up the win, followed by Jeff Strunk, Rick Laubach, Jared Umbenhauer, and Kevin Hirthler.
For the 2020 edition, the season got off to a late start due to the COVID shutdown, with the opener happening in mid-June, and track regular Tim Buckwalter scored the big win followed by Von Dohren, Watt, Umbenhauer, and Strunk.
In the 2021 Bruce Rogers Memorial, six-time track Champion Duane Howard scored the prestigious win, followed by Von Dohren, Brett Kressley, John Willman, and Ryan Watt.
For 2022, the all-time win leader at Grandview, Craig Von Dohren picked up the Speedway’s 60th anniversary opening win, followed by Strunk, Doug Manmiller, Umbenhauer, and Craig Whitmoyer.
In 2023, the 2018 track Champion Mike Gular scored the big win followed by Kressley, Strunk, Von Dohren, and Buckwalter.
Last season’s edition saw outsider Mike Mahaney score the $7500 victory, followed to the finish by Friesen, Strunk, Anthony Perrego, and Howard.
With over 35 T.P. Trailer Modifieds at practice on March 29, and a few outside invaders possible, it will be anyone’s guess who will claim victory in the 2025 running of the VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker.
Grandview Speedway will try for a second time to officially open the 2025 season with the VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker for Big/Small Block Modifieds, with a program hi-lighted by a 50-lap feature paying a cool $7500 to win as well as a remarkable $1000 to qualify and take the green flag in the main event. The program also includes a full show for the T.P. Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman with qualifying events and a 25-lap feature race.
The Opening Night program will be sanctioned by NASCAR and will be the first point race of the new campaign for both the T.P. Trailer Modified and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions toward both the track and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Championships.
For the Bruce Rogers Memorial event, all drivers are welcome to compete as in years past, and if any driver is not a track regular, the Speedway will cover the cost of the $25 temporary NASCAR driver license for this one night of competition.
