THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES RETURNS WITH USAC NATIONAL SPRINT TOUR ON JUNE 17
BRETT KRESSLEY AND COLIN COX HOLD TOP POSITIONS IN GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY POINTS CHASE
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – A busy month of June, with six racing events on the schedule, is set to begin this weekend at Grandview Speedway.
Racing action for the month of June begins with A.D. Moyer Lumber Company as the presenting race night sponsor for the Saturday, June 7 racing program featuring a special triple-header with the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman being joined by the United Racing Club (URC) Sprint Cars.
Saturday night’s program which is part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series will see qualifying events for all divisions leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified main event and 25-lap features for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman and URC Sprint Cars.
Rain checks or pit wristbands from May 17 may be used for the June 7 program, with ticket holders having to pay the added price (adults an extra $8, or students an extra $2, pit prices are the same) or those tickets and wristbands can still be used up to and including the June 14 – T.P. Trailer Modified and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman program. The June 14 event will be the last night to use the May 17 rainchecks.
On Saturday pit gates open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, URC Sprint car engine starts at 6 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
Adult grandstand admission is $28, students 10-15 with ID are $12, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

This upcoming weekend will actually see two shows beginning on Friday, June 6 featuring the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Xcel 600 Modifieds starting at 7 pm. Pit gates open at 2 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm. Grandstand admission will be $10, with children ages 12 and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $35 for the Friday event.
The second Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event is just around the corner on Tuesday, June 17, as Levan Machine & Truck Equipment presents the Jesse Hockett Classic USAC National Sprint Car Series Eastern Storm opener.
This program includes time trials, and qualifying events leading up to the 40-lap feature event that pays $6000 to win. The program also includes the 358 Modifieds with qualifying events and a 30-lap $3000 to win feature, that could pay an added $2000 from Alpine Building Supply if the winning driver is a first time Thunder Series winner.
This past Saturday night’s program was lost to the weather for the sixth time this season. Going back into recent Grandview Speedway history, this is the most weather/rain cancellations to start the season since the 2000’s began, with the 2000 & 2018 season’s having five rainouts to start the season up to the end of the month of May.
With no racing action completed last Saturday, the chase for the championship will see the point standings remain the same heading into this week’s racing action, with Brett Kressley leading the T.P. Trailer Modified standings and Colin Cox sitting on top of the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman standings.

Saturday, June 14 will feature a two-division program with the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman starting at 7:30 pm.
Saturday, June 21 will see the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman competing in their first Twin 20’s feature event program along with a full show for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds starting at 7:30 pm.
Saturday, June 28 will see the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman joined by the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars starting at 7:30 pm.
