NEW EGYPT, NJ – Jax Attax.

Jax Yohn picked a great time to claim his first career New Egypt Speedway victory, claiming a $5,000+ top prize on Saturday, October 25 in the ‘Pinewood Showdown.’

The Boyertown, Pa. native led all 50 laps after starting on the pole to pick up the biggest victory of his young career.

“I saw (Joe) Toth pull up alongside me,” Yohn said of the races final restart. “I knew I couldn’t mess up. He’s really good and been doing it longer than me.”

Yohn held off charges from the likes of Toth, Colin Cox, Ryan Heim and Ethan Bill on his way to the $5,000+ victory.

Following the race, Yohn, Heim (third), and Bobby Butler (fifth), all had their engines pulled and sent to Ingram Engines – a certified RUSH engine builder – for further technical inspection.

Following the inspection, Ryan Heim has been disqualified due to an engine infraction. The illegal parts in the engine have been confiscated and will be kept by the speedway.

Yohn gets the biggest win of his career, totaling over $5,000 for posting the $100 Gambler’s Fee plus lap money obtained over the course of the 50-lap affair.

Newtown, Pa.’s Joe Toth settled for the runner-up spot after starting in sixth. Following Heim, disqualification, Perkasie, Pa.’s Colin Cox rounds out the podium with Milford, N.J.’s Bobby Butler and Bedminster, N.J.’s Mike Butler completing the top five.

Finishing sixth through tenth, respectively, were Cream Ridge, N.J.’s Steve Davis aboard a Howie Finch owned No. 4; Jacksonville, N.J.’s Nick Van Wickle; Elmer, N.J.’s Travis Hill in another Howie Finch No. 4 car; Lehighton, Pa.’s Ryan Graver in the Monte Pool owned No. 21p; and Hellertown, Pa.’s Mike Toth completed the top ten.

Qualifier winners were Bobby Butler, Ethan Bill, Mike Butler, and Joe Toth while the consolation races were won by Jesse Hirthler and Charley Cossaboone.

In Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) action, Buddy Schweibinz was victorious for the second night in a row.

The Tuckahoe, N.J. native won his fourth MASS Sprint Feature of the season and completed a sweep of the season ending weekend.

Schweibinz raced from the seventh starting position, taking the lead with just four laps to go to pick up the win. He slid by Eddie Wagner to snatch the lead away in the late stages of the affair.

Wagner held on for second with Tim Tanner Jr., D.J. Tanner Jr., and Rory Janney completing the top five.

The Four Cylinders also had a great battle with a late race pass, with Kyle Hurley claiming the $750 top prize.

Hurley slipped Bobby Drayton IV – who was going for a second consecutive win – with just three laps remaining to pick up the win.

Drayton IV settled for second with Joe Garey Sr., Dale Mull and Logan Mull completing the top five.
