Bridgeport Motorsports Park is taking youth racing to the next level in 2026 with the addition of a brand-new 1/20-mile clay 1/4 Midget Speedway, expanding the facility from two to three racing tracks and creating a true family racing destination.
The new Bridgeport 1/4 Midget Speedway will host Saturday afternoon competition, allowing young racers to take the track before evening action begins on the famous high-banked 4/10-mile speedway. For the first time, parents and kids will be able to race at the same facility on the same day.
“This is something our racers have been asking for,” said Bridgeport owner Doug Rose. “They want one place where the whole family can race together. Now they can. 2026 is the year it happens.”
The new Quarter Midget track strengthens Bridgeport’s unmatched driver development ladder:
- Start at age 5 in Quarter Midgets
- Move up to Slingshots and Micro Sprints on the 1/4-mile track
- Advance to Rookie Sportsman, Modifieds, and Sprint Cars on the 4/10-mile speedway
Bridgeport will now offer a complete racing path from childhood through professional-level dirt competition—all in one location.
Unlike traditional Quarter Midget club tracks, Bridgeport’s program will operate like a professional speedway:
- No required parent work duties
- Fully staffed race-day operations
- Track maintenance handled by Bridgeport personnel
- One all-access pit pass: just $10
- Simple, standard car entry fees
“Families are busy. We want racing to be fun, not a second job,” Rose explained. “Our staff will handle everything so parents and kids can focus on racing.”
The Bridgeport 1/4 Midget Speedway will follow NASCAR Youth Series Quarter Midget rules under USAC guidelines but will operate independently, giving the program flexibility while maintaining professional standards.
Rookie School will run from April 4 through April 30, preparing new drivers for safe competition.
Weekly racing begins Saturday, May 2, with events scheduled for Saturday afternoons to avoid conflicts with surrounding Quarter Midget programs in New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
This strategic schedule ensures Bridgeport complements—not competes with—other youth racing organizations in the region, creating more opportunities for young racers, not fewer.
Doug Rose will be available to discuss the new Quarter Midget Speedway and answer questions at the PPB Motorsports Show, January 23–24, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
With the addition of the Quarter Midget Speedway, Bridgeport Motorsports Park becomes one of the most complete dirt racing facilities in the Northeast—offering:
- Youth racing
- Developmental divisions
- Professional-level competition
- A true family racing environment
In 2026, Bridgeport isn’t just building a track.
It’s building the future of dirt racing.
