Swedesboro, NJ — Bridgeport Motorsports Park will launch the 2026 racing season with a blockbuster two-day weekend March 21–22, headlined by invading Short Track Super Series (STSS) Modified and Sportsman action.

The season-opening weekend will provide 2 Modified features and 3 Sportsman feature events with multiple long-distance laps along with a unique rain-date structure designed to ensure the completion of all major programs.

Saturday will be a full prelim race day for both Modifieds and Sportsman divisions, operating under STSS rules. The program will include heats, consi’s, and feature events.

• 25-lap Modified feature – $3,000 to win

• 20-lap Sportsman feature – $1,000 to win

The top three finishers in each feature will be locked into Sunday’s STSS main events.

“Racers and fans have asked us for a full prelim program with features and payouts rather than timed dashes or practice sessions,” said track promoter Doug Rose. “In 2026, we’re going to give them exactly that.”

Also on Saturday as a bonus Bridgeport will provide:

• Rescheduled Harry’s U-Pull-It 602 Sportsman Grand Nationals – 100 laps

• 29 previously qualified cars remain locked in

• No additional entries will be accepted

Rose added, “All Sportsman teams are welcome to compete in the 20-lap Saturday prelim program, regardless of their Grand Nationals status.”

The Victory Fuel Wingless Sprint Cars (NEWS) will also compete on Saturday.

Sunday will feature complete STSS point-paying shows for both divisions.

STSS Modifieds

• Group time trials

• Heats and Consi’s

• 60-lap Doug Hoffman Memorial feature – $6,060 to win

STSS Sportsman

• Full qualifying program

• 25-lap feature – $1,500 to win

Four-Cylinder Stock Cars will round out the Sunday card.

A Unique Weather Plan is in place,  “Sunday’s Rain Date is Saturday”. To protect the touring series programs, Bridgeport has implemented a proactive weather policy. If the forecast shows unfavorable conditions for Sunday, the full STSS program will be moved to Saturday, and the Saturday prelim races will be canceled.

“Yes, that’s correct, Sunday’s rain date is Saturday,” Rose explained. “We want teams to know early so they can plan. Realistically, the majority of Sunday teams would already be here to run Saturday anyway.”

Bridgeport plans efficient, three-division shows both days. Each day is limited to three divisions to ensure fast-paced programs while still presenting extended-lap marquee events. Early start times will be announced as the event approaches.

Following opening weekend at Bridgeport the regular point season begins:

• April 11 – Bridgeport weekly point season opener

• April 26 – Invasion of the new PA Posse 410 Sprint Series
