VP RACING FUELS BRUCE ROGERS MEMORIAL MONEY MAKER TO OPEN SEASON FOR MODIFIEDS PAYING $7500 TO WIN AND $1000 TO START ON SATURDAY APRIL 4
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Grandview Speedway hosted an open test and tune practice session on Saturday afternoon, setting the stage for Opening Night next Saturday, April 4.
A solid turnout of race teams gathered in the Grandview Speedway pit area on breezy and very cool Saturday afternoon, with a total of 73 race cars taking part in the traditional free-to-the-public open practice session, which allowed drivers to test their cars for the upcoming racing campaign.
Drivers from various divisions were represented and leading the way were the two weekly divisions, as 27 – T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment NASCAR Modifieds, and 27 – T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman gathered in the pit area, along with Outlaw Racing Series Enduro cars, Keystone Sport Compact Series Four Cylinders, Vintage cars, and a non-wing Sprint car which all took practice laps in the three and a half-hour test session.
Turning quick laps during the practice session for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds were Eric Kormann of Carneys Point, N.J. with a lap of 14.221 seconds, followed by Rick Laubach of Quakertown, Pa. with a lap of 15.133, Jeff Strunk of Boyertown, Pa. with a fast lap of 15.208, and Chris Esposito of Telford, Pa. with a lap of 15.251.
Turning quick laps in the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman division were last years Champion Colin Cox of Perkasie, Pa. with a quick lap of 15.066, followed by Decker Swinehart of Fleetwood, Pa. with a lap of 15.369 and Matthew Laubach of Hellertown, Pa. with a lap of 15.378.
Other quick laps during the cool afternoon test session were Richie Hitzler of Lebanon, Pa. in the Xcel Modifieds with a lap of 15.875, Ryan Moyer in the Keystone Sport Compact Series Four Cylinders with a lap of 18.493, and Alexander McIlroy in a Wingless Sprint car with a lap of 17.287.
With practice in the record books, attention now turns to the 2026 season opening VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker, which is open to both Big and Small Block Modified competitors and is run in honor of long-time track owner and promoter Bruce Rogers. The feature race will be 50-laps, paying a cool $7500 to win as well as a remarkable $1000 to take the green flag in the main event!
Grandview Speedway management is reminding all competitors that the Opening Night program will be sanctioned by NASCAR and will be the first point race of the new campaign for both the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions toward both the track and NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts Championships.
Race time on Opening Night is 6 pm, Pit gates open at 1 pm, Grandstand gates open at 4 pm, the Drivers meeting is at 4 pm, followed by the draw for position, then warm-ups at 5 pm.
Grandstand admission for Adults is $30, Students ages 10-15 with ID are $20, while ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $40 with a license and $45 without a license.
Saturday, April 11 is set aside as a rain date if needed for the opener. However, if not needed, then it will be a two-division program for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment 358 Modifieds and T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman under the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts banner.
