WEST LEBANON, NY – The Valley of Speed. The Super Dirt Speedway.

Howard Commander’s legendary, high-banked Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y., is an icon in Northeast dirt Modified racing. On Thursday, May 21, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco makes its inaugural visit with the ‘King of Spring’ special.

STSS Modifieds kick off the 2026 HYTORC of New York North Region title fight with a 40-lap event paying $7,000 to win and $700 to start from a purse totaling more than $32,000.

The event holds a historic place in the 13-year existence of the series: Lebanon Valley becomes the 40th speedway to host a Modified event in series history.

“We’re thrilled to add Lebanon Valley to the Short Track Super Series history books,” series director Brett Deyo said. “The Valley has a storied history in our sport and is a perfect fit as Track No. 40 on the series.”

Joining the Modifieds on the open-wheel doubleheader program are the STSS Sportsman in the ‘Refuse 2 Lose 24’ in memory of late driver, parts supplier and media member Bobby Chalmers.

The 24-lap STSS Sportsman event – Round No. 1 of the Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region – pays $2,400 to win and thousands in lap money and bonus cash.
