For the 61st time in the series history, Talladega Superspeedway will host the ARCA Menards Series on Saturday, April 22 for the running of the General Tire 200.
The event, which services as the third race of the 2023 ARCA Menards Series season, comes more than a month after the series was last in action at Phoenix Raceway.
The ARCA Menards Series first visited Talladega in 1969 when Jim Vandiver earned his maiden series victory. In the years that followed many recognizable names have visited Victory Lane at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, including Ramo Stott, Iggy Katona, Mark Martin, Davey Allison, Red Farmer, Charlie Glotzbach, Tim Steele, Bobby Gerhart, Frank Kimmel, Justin Allgaier, Ty Dillon, Justin Haley, Zane Smith, Todd Gilliland, Corey Heim and the most recent winner, Nick Sanchez.
In fact, ARCA Menards Series events at Talladega have produced 16 consecutive different race winners.
Tickets to the General Tire 200 are available. Below is everything to know about Saturday’s event.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
The stars and cars of the ARCA Menards Series invade Talladega Superspeedway this Saturday for the running of the General Tire 200 with Greg Van Alst leading the charge.
Van Alst, who triumphed in the opening race of the season at Daytona International Speedway in February, leads the ARCA Menards Series standings by 10 points entering Saturday’s race. Another superspeedway victory would help pad that lead as the series prepares to enter the heart of the 2023 schedule.
His closest pursuer is Frankie Muniz, who finished sixth in the most recent ARCA Menards Series event at Phoenix Raceway in March. Muniz was also competitive at Daytona. He raced inside the top-10 for much of the day before finishing 11th.
Venturini Motorsports will attempt to reassert dominance with a quartet of entries for Saturday’s race. The team will be lead by Gus Dean, the only previous Talladega winner expected to compete in Saturday’s event. Jesse Love, who is making his Talladega debut, Amber Balcaen and Toni Breidinger are also entered for Venturini.
Joe Gibbs Racing has filed an entry for Taylor Gray, who will take the reigns of the No. 18 Toyota. It’s Gray’s first ARCA start of the 2023 season, first with Joe Gibbs Racing and his first on a superspeedway.

Rev Racing, the defending winners of the General Tire 200 with Nick Sanchez last season, will have entries for Andres Perez de Lara and Jack Wood. Bret Holmes, the 2020 ARCA Menards Series champion, returns to the series to race at his home track aboard his own No. 23 Chevrolet.
Jason White, who held the lead at Daytona International Speedway on the final lap until Greg Van Alst made the race-winning move entering Turn 3, is back for his second race of the season in Jeff McClure’s No. 44. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour star Patrick Emerling is slated to make his ARCA debut in his own No. 53.
Other notable entries for Saturday’s General Tire 200 include Sean Corr, Christian Rose, Logan Misuraca, Andy Jankowiak, Mandy Chick and Jason Kitzmiller.
