(Chemung, NY) While the track lost the last two races in a row, all eyes are on a big upcoming Friday night program. Sam’s Bar & Grill returns to sponsor their second race night this year and it’s a full program on June 23rd. All five regular divisions (Buckley’s Automotive Modifieds, Blauvelt Funeral Home Super Stocks, Marion Decker Agency Hobby Stocks, 4 Cylinders and Serendipity Ice Cream Bandoleros) will be in action.
It’s also Fan Appreciation Night, moved to this Friday due to last week’s rainout. During intermission drivers will have their cars on the track for a Meet and Greet. With this rescheduling, kids can leave their bicycles home. Kids Bike Races will be held on an upcoming night to be determined.
Promoter Ray Hodge and his team are working hard to make up rain dates, as last Friday marked rainout number 3. There are no guarantees this will happen, but they hope to run the full number of races originally planned for 2023.
Pits open this Friday at 4:30, grandstand at 5, practice starts at 6 and the first green flag flies at 7. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $5 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for kids ages 5 and under.
For information, go to the track’s active Facebook page (Chemung Speedrome – Racing at the Drome) or log on to the track’s website: chemung-speedrome.com. You can also contact Ray Hodge at 607-483-3468.
