Competitors from six countries will descend upon New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the U.S. Legend Cars International Road Course World Finals Oct. 6-8.
LOUDON, N.H. – U.S. Legend Cars International (USLCI) is bringing the Road Course World Finals to New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) for the second consecutive year this weekend, Oct. 6-8. Seventy-two competitors from six countries will compete on the 1.6-mile full road course in pursuit of the 2023 world championship.
“We’re thrilled to host back-to-back Road Course World Finals here in New England during the picturesque fall season,” said New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager David McGrath. “Drivers from around the world will put on another exciting weekend of championship racing on our road course for race fans at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.”
Drivers from six countries – Canada, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Sweden and the United States – make up a diverse entry list. Twenty U.S. states are represented among the entries, which includes 35 New Englanders (seven from Maine, five from New Hampshire, six from Massachusetts, nine from Connecticut and eight from Rhode Island). The 1.6-mile, 12-turn course features a blend of technical sections and the high-speed areas of the traditional oval that are sure to test the championship mettle of drivers from around the globe.
“Racing at New Hampshire offers some of the most exciting Legend Car road course racing making it a great track to host a season-ending national event,” said U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX Vice President of Business Operations Graham Smith. “From elevation changes to long, flat straightaways, the circuit checks all the boxes for tight road racing action. Last year’s championship battles made coming back to New Hampshire an easy decision. We look forward to seeing more of that excitement in the Granite State this fall.”
Sunday’s Masters Championship race will honor the late Bob Weymouth, an avid Legend Car competitor and multi-time INEX road course state champion from Topsham, Maine who passed away earlier this year after a brief illness. Weymouth’s No. 399 Legend Car will pace the field for The Bob Weymouth Memorial Masters Championship Race.
The weekend schedule includes practice sessions for all divisions starting at 10 a.m. Friday, practice (10:30 a.m.), qualifying (12:30 p.m.) and heat races (immediately following qualifying) for all divisions on Saturday and championship day for all divisions starting at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Most recently held at NHMS in 2022, the USLCI Road Course World Finals is broken into four divisions: Pro (experienced drivers), Masters (drivers 40 years and older), Semi-Pro (novice) and Young Lions (drivers between the ages of 10 and 16). USLCI is the fastest-growing developmental series in the country. Drivers in the top levels of NASCAR, such as Chase Elliott, Kurt and Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, Bubba Wallace, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Hemric and Dale Earnhardt Jr., to name a few, came from the USLCI program.
