VERNON, NY – Friday night fun.
After a successful Season Opener on Sunday (April 21), Utica-Rome Speedway returns to competition this Friday, April 26 with a complete program of live and local stock car racing.
The first Friday event of the season features racing on both the inner and outer ovals. The half-mile will host the 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds, Taylor’s Trailers Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphics Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders. Allstar and Junior Slingshots make their 2024 debut on the inner oval.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Adult admission is $15 (Adults), $13 (Seniors ages 65 and over) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (Non-Members), $35 (Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children ages 5 and under.
The event will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).
Opening Day victors included Matt Sheppard (Modified), Butchie Irwin (Crate 602 Sportsman), Luke Horning (Pro Stock), Josh Coonradt (Limited Sportsman), Cory Valade (Four Cylinder Dual Cam) & Wayne Russell Jr. (Four Cylinder Single Cam).
A hefty turnout of 137 cars included 44 Modifieds, 45 Crate 602 Sportsman, 17 Pro Stocks, 15 Limited Sportsman and 16 Four Cylinders.
