POINTS UPDATE: Mat Williamson Takes Over Series Points Lead After Albany-Saratoga

LATEST RACES: Albany-Saratoga Speedway (June 25)

NOTE: Points were awarded following the first segment (46 laps) of the Don Davies New York Modifieds 76.

Current Points Leader: With a third-place finish in Segment 1 at Albany-Saratoga, Mat Williamson vaulted from third to first in the Series standings. The St. Catharines, ON, driver is currently seven points ahead of Anthony Perrego and eight points ahead of Matt Sheppard.

Movers:

Anthony Perrego (-1): Perrego crossed the line 13th at the end of the first segment, dropping him to second in points. He enters the Stars and Stripes Spectacular at Land of Legends Raceway seven points behind Williamson.

Matt Sheppard (+1): The 10-time and defending champion earned more points than any other driver when he finished second in the race’s first segment. The Waterloo, NY driver is one point behind Perrego for second and eight points behind Williamson for the top spot.

Peter Britten (-3): Britten finished one spot behind Perrego in the 46-lap segment, dropping him three spots to fourth. However, he’s only five points behind Sheppard for third and 13 points behind Britten for the lead.

Tim Sears Jr. (+2): With a top five finish at Albany-Saratoga in the first segment, Sears vaulted to sixth in the standings. The Hastings, NY, driver is 57 points out of first place and 27 points behind Jimmy Phelps for fifth.

Darren Smith (-1): Smith crossed the line in 14th at the end of the first segment, dropping him one spot to seventh. The Binghamton, NY driver is nine points behind Sears for sixth.

Alex Payne (+3): The leading Rookie of the Year contender on the Super DIRTcar Series re-entered the top 10 after finishing ninth in Segment 1 of the Don Davies New York Modifieds 76. Payne is 22 points out of seventh and 88 points out of first.

Mike Mahaney (+1): After finishing 19th in the first segment, Mahaney moved up a spot to ninth. He’s four points ahead of Larry Wight and six points ahead of Jack Lehner, who’s in 11th place.

Larry Wight (-1): With Mahaney moving up a spot in the standings, Wight dropped one position to round out the top 10 after Albany-Saratoga. The Phoenix, NY driver crossed the line 22nd in the 46-lap segment.
