JEFF STRUNK AND LOGAN WATT REMAIN ON TOP OF TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP POINT STANDINGS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The countdown to the track championships continues at Grandview Speedway, with a special three-division race program this weekend.

Grandview Speedway will be presenting a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program this week featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds, the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman along with a first time visit by the Pro4 Racing Series.

The show on Saturday, August 24 will include qualifying events leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature, a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, and a 25-lap feature for the Pro4 Racing Series Four Cylinder cars.

The Pro4 Racing Series will make its first ever visit to the Berks County one-third-of-a-mile raceway, and are sponsored by Hauser’s Truck Service, Rowan Enterprises, Frederick Chevrolet, Be Smart Home Inspections, and Quality Machine.

This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted by Whippy and Jennifer Umbenhauer. The drivers scheduled to participate include Modified drivers Tim Buckwalter and Kyle Smith along with Sportsman driver Adrianna Delliponti.

The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area from 5-6 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.

Saturday’s program will have yet another bonus for the fans, as the monthly Trivia night contest will be held, where fans can win cool prizes for correctly answering questions about Grandview Speedway racing.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

Pit gates will open at 4 pm. with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm. warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm. and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.

Jeff Strunk of Boyertown, Pa. continues to lead the T.P. Trailer Modified point standings, as the ten-time champion is looking for his eleventh career point title. The last time Strunk won the point championship at Grandview was during the 2014 racing season, which capped a remarkable span of time for Strunk in which he won his ten point titles between the 2000 and 2014 seasons.

The remaining drivers in the top five are Craig Von Dohren of Oley, Pa., Mike Gular of Boyertown, Pa., Eddie Strada of Lake Ariel, Pa., and Duane Howard of Oley, Pa.

The current top ten in points for the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds are 1. Jeff Strunk – 3569, 2. Craig Von Dohren – 3258, 3. Mike Gular – 3142, 4. Eddie Strada – 3097, 5. Duane Howard – 2951, 6. Jared Umbenhauer – 2886, 7. Brett Kressley – 2835, 8. Louden Reimert – 2744, 9. Doug Manmiller – 2580, 10. Tim Buckwalter – 2535.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division continues to see defending champion Logan Watt of Boyertown, Pa. at the top of the points list, a position he has held since the completion of the June 1 racing program. The amount of his lead has varied at times over the course of the summer stretch, but he currently holds a 231 point edge over second place point man Dylan Swinehart of Fleetwood, Pa.

Rounding out the top five in the current standings are Addison Meitzler of Kempton, Pa., Mike Schneck Jr. of Lebanon, Pa., and Adrianna Delliponti of Norristown, Pa., the last two, who are still looking for a feature win this season.

The current top ten in T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman points are 1. Logan Watt – 3079, 2. Dylan Swinehart – 2848, 3. Addison Meitzler – 2781, 4. Mike Schneck Jr. – 2701, 5. Adrianna Delliponti – 2600, 6. Brett Gilmore – 2573, 7. Jesse Hirthler – 2451, 8. Ryan Graver – 2304, 9. Logan Bauman – 2044, 10. Jesse Landis – 2028.

The 54th annual T.P. Trailer Freedom 76 Modified championship race is on the horizon and fast approaching on Saturday, September 21.

The first bonuses for the big race have already been posted by Modified driver Bobby Gunther-Walsh and several of his race team sponsors including Drs. Eric Lebby and Thomas DiBenedetto Orthopedic Specialists, Eden East Designs, Res-Q-Natural Supplements, Just Born Confections, and Agentis Plumbing.

They have all combined to post the Freedom 76 Hard Charger award of $1776, for the driver who advances the most positions from scheduled starting spot to finishing position in the championship race.

Another award of $276 will also be posted for either a Hard Luck award or non-qualifier during the Freedom 76 race night as decided by track officials.

Lap sponsorships, at $20 per lap, are now available for the September 21 running of the Freedom 76 T.P. Trailer Modified Championship race. It is a great way to wish your favorite driver good luck or advertise a business during the big race event.

Laps that are sponsored are read on the public address system and posted on social media leading up to the big event and on championship race weekend.

The Freedom weekend of racing will include the 11th annual Freedom 38 T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman Championship on Friday, September 20, in addition to rounds of Modified practice for the following day’s Freedom 76 championship race.

Then on Saturday, September 21 will be the presentation of the 54th annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds, competing in their longest and most lucrative race event of the season.
