Chemung, NY – (August 12, 2024) – Zane Zeiner of Bath, PA, continues to be one of the dominant forces in Race of Champions Modified Series competition.
This past Saturday, Zeiner turned in another outstanding performance during the Rod Spalding Classic at Chemung (NY) Speedrome. Zeiner won his qualifying race, his son Gunnar drew the pole for him for the feature and Zeiner went on to lead every lap to earn the feature victory.
“We had a good car and we were able to run our own pace,” Zeiner offered from victory lane. “This was a big night for us as we lost a great friend and part of our racing family in Evan Canfield, so we had this race, just like the first one here circled on our calendar. It’s an emotional night and we are proud of what we could accomplish, winning the race and be able to honor Rod (Spalding) and the Canfield family.”
Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY, started 3rd and finished 2nd chasing Zeiner to the finish. Shawn Nye of Lancaster, NY, finished 3rd his best finish in Race of Champions Modified Series competition to date.
