Jacksonville, NC (August 31, 2024) – The Rocket man, Ryan Newman, is now a two-time winner this year on the SMART Modified Tour. The South Bend, IN driver won the Pace-O-Matic 99 at New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, NC.
After vying for the lead for many laps, Newman took the top spot from Freehold, NJ driver, Danny Bohn on lap 87 and sped to victory lane at the Coastal North Carolina race track.
“I was working him hard and giving it all I had for a while,” said Ryan Newman in Pace-O-Matic victory lane. “I had a good run off of turn two and was able to get under him to get the lead. I have to thank all of these fans that came out to watch today even though it’s early. This is a fun race track.”
Bohn has now finished on the podium for three races in-a-row, including two consecutive second-place results.
“We’re running good, but I really wanted to get one of those SMARTY trophies,” said Bohn, who led 50 laps. “He got a run on the inside and then it was done. I gotta thank my Ameri-Fast team. We’re knocking on the door; we’re leading a lot of laps and we’ll get one soon.”
