Evergreen Raceway readies for 23rd Annual King of the Green weekends October 11/12 & 18/19

(Butler Township, PA 10-7-24) The regular season has been run and the champions all crowned and now Evergreen Raceway looks ahead to the next two weekends, October 11-12 & 18-19, with their yearly marque event, the 23rd Annual King of the Green (KoG).

The first KoG weekend begins this Friday with an open practice session for all classes from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm or longer if needed. Friday pit admission is $25 per person. The kitchen will be open also.

Saturday’s line up will see the DW Machine & Fabricating Late Models running in a 55 lap feature and paying $2000-to-win. The 602 Crate Modifieds will face-off in a 40-lap/$1000-to-win main.

The Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks are competing in a 55-lapper with the winner collecting $1000. This event is open to any asphalt Street Stock and you need only conform to respective home track rules. This also includes the New York Super Stocks and the Race of Champions touring groups.

The McNulty Funeral Home Novice class is battling in 20 lap run and awards first place $125. The day will also include a 20 lap feature for the East Coast TQ Midgets and during intermission the JuiceBox Division will take to the track.

The Late Models will run time trials while heat races will set the fields for the other divisions.

Pit gates and registration open at 9:00 am. All cars must be registered by 11:00 am and at that time the drivers meeting will take place. Practice will start at 11:15 am and conclude at 12:30 pm. Racing will commence at 1:00 pm.

Pit admission is $50 and adult grandstand admission is $20. Kids 12 and under are free.

On weekend two it will start with another Friday open practice which then leads into Saturday’s KoG headlined by the stars and cars of the Tour Type Modifieds going head-to-head in a 75-lap/$3000-to-win feature. This is a time trail event.

Also on the slate will be the Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders battling in a 40-lap showdown that pays $500-to-win. The Rotten-and-Forgotten will be part of the line-up with a 30-lap race. The touring INEX Legends are set for a 40-lap feature with $400 presented to the victor. Rounding out the day will be the Bandolero’s going a distance of 20-laps and $100-to-win.

October 19 pit gates and registration opens at 9:00 am. Registration will close at 11:00 am. From 11:00 am to 11:30 pm there will be practice for the support classes. The Tour Type Modifieds will then have their practice round from 11:30 pm to noon. Racing will start at 12:30 pm with Tour Type Modified time trials up first followed be heats.

Pit admission is $50 and $20 at the front gate. Kids 12 and under are free.
