Undoubtedly the off-season event for race starved fans annually is the extremely popular Long Island Daytona 500 party. Today it was announced that the 33rd edition of the fun filled event is returning to The All Star of Riverhead, Sunday February 16th, 2025. Another afternoon of watching the “Great American” race is planned complete with drink specials, race pools, raffles and door prizes. Riverhead Raceway broadcaster Stephen Halpin and brother Tim again host the annual get together.
The All Star of Riverhead will provide several drink special options for the 500 including Budweiser and Bud Light pitchers for $10 or Budweiser, Bud Light or Coors Light 160z bottles for $5. Those opting for the draught beer can upgrade the Budweiser or Bud Light options to a 22-ounce glass for $7. Domestic buckets of beer (5) are available at $15, import buckets (5) are $20. Options aside from beer include a bucket of hard seltzers (5) for $20 or a bucket of High Noon (5) for $22.
In 2024 Connor Halpin, part of the management team of The All Star introduced a $7 White Russian in memory of the late “Tiger” Tom Baldwin, a $7 Baldwin Strong Mexican Mule will also be offered, those two options return this February. Well drinks start at $6 per, Green Tea shots are priced at $5 each. Plenty of food options can be ordered off The All Star of Riverhead menu during the party, those who order receive a complimentary pint of beer.
Ever since the inaugural Long Island Daytona 500 Party organized by the Halpin brothers and Bob Finan, race pools for the 500 will again be plentiful. The OG of pools is the 10-points for two picks Daytona 500 pool organized by Tim Halpin. The winner of each pool earns 200-points, with as many as 10 of these pools presented in one day.
Perhaps the most popular pool available is the Speedy Reidy’s Fundraiser, where one lucky winner becomes the proud owner of a new 65″ flat screen TV. The format is based on the Super Bowl box formula utilized in work pools and by pubs across Long Island. Boxes are 20 points per box and the winner need not be present. Arrangements will be made for any out-of-town winner for the TV to be delivered to them. Boxes for this pool are now available via Venmo@meredithhalpin1.
Additional pools, raffles and door prizes will include pit passes for a NASCAR Cup event at the track of your choice, Pocono, Dover, New Hampshire or Richmond.
The All Star of Riverhead is located at 96 Main Road in Riverhead, NY 11901. The All Star is a family friendly facility featuring open bowling as well a game room for the kids.
