(Forestville, PA 1-30-25) Every race track has unique features that attract fans weekly and at Big Diamond Speedway in Forestville, besides racing and its drivers, concession and novelty stands are also a big draw for spectators.
The racing and those who pilot the cars are indeed exceptional. At the concession stand fans are treated to signature food items that are simple yet gratifying as evident by the lines of hungry race goers each week.
However, last season, the novelty stand was not operating, which left a void for the many dedicated fans who support the 3/8-mil dirt oval. But thanks to the efforts of Doreen Tabertshofer, things will be up and running again for the 2025 season.
For years Doreen and her daughter, Kim Glass, and her business, Kim’s Kreations, maintained the Big Diamond Speedway novelty stand. Last year, though, the mother/daughter team had to step away and unfortunately, the booth was closed.
The good news is Doreen is returning for 2025 and just as before fans can once again purchase all of their Big Diamond Speedway swag from t-shirts, hoodies, hats, decals and more. She also plans to connect with photographers and have photos available and there will likewise be an array of racing trinkets such as magnets, pins, decals and other types of race-related novelties.
Doreen is anxious to get back to business at the Big Diamond Speedway novelty stand and said that she is open to any ideas that fans may want to bring to her.
The Big Diamond Speedway novelty stand is conveniently located too, just below the main scoring tower building. Matter of fact, because of its perfect location, fans never miss any of the action on track while at the same time picking out their favorite racing items.
Big Diamond Speedway is thankful to Doreen for taking over the novelty stand, which is an integral part of the speedway.
The 53rd Big Diamond Speedway season opener is set for Friday evening, April 4. Topping the night of action will be the Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds competing for $4053 to win. Also on the line-up will be the USS Achey 602 Crate Sportsman racing for $1053 winner’s share plus the Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners which will be presenting first place with $453. Rounding out the night will be the Big Creek Concrete 602 Crate Sportsman. Race time is 7:15 pm.
One week prior to the opener the speedway will host an open practice session on Sunday, March 30, from noon to 4:00 pm. The practice is open to any car with a roll-cage.
