NHMS staff collected unused travel-size toiletries from their travels to create toiletry kits to donate to local families in need.

LOUDON, N.H. – The air outside may be below freezing, but many hearts were warmed when the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) team brought 120 toiletry kits to Family Promise of Greater Concord (FPGC) Thursday. The travel-size toiletries were collected by the NHMS staff during their travels over the past two years and put together into individual kits to donate to those in need in the local community.

“Our company believes wholeheartedly in impacting our community and having a heart to help others,” said New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager David McGrath. “It has been amazing to watch the New Hampshire Motor Speedway team come together to collect all of these items to help so many folks right here in our community. The impact Family Promise of Greater Concord has on families needing assistance is great, and I’m proud that we can help their incredible mission in a small way.”

Throughout 2023 and 2024, NHMS staff saved their unused travel-size toiletries from trips supporting other speedways across the country during NASCAR weekends, family vacations and weekend getaways to create 66 women’s kits and 54 men’s kits. Each kit contains shampoo, conditioner, a bar of soap, shower gel, body lotion, deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and either a bar of facial soap or makeup remover wipes.

“These kits will be a huge help for the children and families we support, giving them the hygiene products they need to feel comfortable and cared for as they go through tough times,” said Family Promise of Greater Concord Executive Director Stephen Croke. “All these items will not only boost their confidence and well-being but will also help them stay healthy as they work toward getting back on their feet.”

FPGC prevents and ends homelessness for families with children and helps them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

FPGC recently received a grant from the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, the official charity of NHMS. The grant is being used to support their Diversion/Prevention Program, which is a proactive, unique approach to preventing homelessness and providing stable housing solutions to vulnerable families and individuals facing economic hardship and on the brink of homelessness.
