Perry, NY – (June 15, 2025) – Alan Bookmiller of Castile, NY started fifth and worked his way through the field to earn his second career Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series victory this past Saturday at “The Bullring” Wyoming County International Speedway in Perry, NY in the “Father’s Day 40”.
Bookmiller considers Wyoming County his home track and same location his first Series victory came.
“This is just feels great,” stated Bookmiller in victory lane. “I have to thank my Dad and my entire family for helping me get here. These races are anything but easy to win and the competition is tough. Starting where we did, I wasn’t sure, but I know this track pretty good and we were able to get the job done. It really does feel great an we are going to enjoy this.”
Bookmiller outran Andrew Lewis, Jr., of Ontario, NY, who won the Series first event at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY. Dan Majchrzak of Perry, NY, came home third.
Defending Series champion, Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, NY, started twelfth and finished fourth. Bill Mislin of Buffalo, NY, scored his first-series top-five.
Joe Evans of Holland, NY, Jacob Christman of Walnutport, PA, and Timmerman won the qualifying races. Evans was also the fastest in final practice.
VanLane Scores Second Consecutive Rocket Performance 602 Modified Series Victory
In the Race of Champions Rocket Performance 602 Sportsman Modified Series, Joey VanLane (Williamson, N.Y.) bested Madison Knapp (Ontario, N.Y.) and John Sippel (Webster, N.Y.).
Hughes Wins FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series Event
Tommy Hughes of Akron, NY, won the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series event. Gene Purvis of Elima, NY finished second with Patsy Catalano of Ontario, NY finishing third.
