BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will be running their longest race of the season on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, and the drivers will be chasing several bonuses in the annual Championship race.
The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will be in the spotlight this week participating in the 55th annual Firecracker 40 championship race, the biggest race program of the summer for the division.
The show on Saturday, July 12 will be a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman in an event that includes qualifying events for both classes leading into the $2000 to win 40-lap championship feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman and the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature.

A special THANK YOU to several people who have posted bonus money for the annual championship race increasing the winner’s share as well as other bonuses the drivers can shoot for during Saturday night’s race program.

Grandview Speedway’s official Track Photographer Steve Sabo owner of SDS Racing Photography has posted a bonus of $400 to the winner of the Firecracker 40, along with the posted purse of $2000 to win, increasing the total to $2400 for the win in the championship race!
Mike and Jill Horn are also posting another $100 to the winner of the Firecracker 40, making for a grand total of $2500 to the race winner!
The Gagliardo Family owners of the #41 Modified have posted a bonus of $250 to the leader of Lap 20 at Half-way in memory of Vince Gagliardo Sr.
The Gagliardo Family owners of the #41 Modified have posted a bonus of $250 to the Firecracker 40 Hard Charger in memory of Glenn Strunk.
This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted by Brittany Huber. The drivers who will be participating include T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman drivers Colin Cox, Jesse Landis and Joey Vaccaro on hand with their cars in the main gate area from 5-6 pm. This is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers.
Adult grandstand admission is $25, students 10-15 with ID are $12, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
Saturday’s race program will also be recorded and produced by ATVN-TV. The Astound TV Network (ATVN) will be recording the race events this Saturday, with the race event broadcast to be shown on a tape-delayed basis. The heat races will be a complete program shown on the following Tuesday night, while the features will air the following Friday evening, with further replays to follow.
ATVN airs on channel 4/1004 HD (Lehigh Valley) and channel 8 /608 HD in Delaware County. Additional air dates and times of the races can be found at astound.com/ATVN. Once again Mike Feltenberger and Randy Kane will be the hosts on the broadcast.
The weekend action actually begins on Friday, July 11, as another Outlaw Racing Series Enduro/Vintage double program will be presented along with the addition of the Pro 4 Racing Series Four Cylinder Stock Cars. On Friday, grandstand admission for adults is $10, children ages 12 and under are free, while pit admission is $35. Pit gates open at 2 pm, while grandstand gates open at 5:30 pm, and racing starts at 7 pm.
The annual Firecracker 40-lap Championship was started for the former Late Model division at the Speedway in 1971, but was transitioned to the Sportsman class in 2019 after the Late Model division was discontinued.
Since becoming a T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman event, there has not been a repeat winner of the Firecracker 40 with recent winners including Brad Brightbill (2019), Brad Arnold (2020), Brian Hirthler (2021), Keith Brightbill (2022), Addison Meitzler (2023), and the defending race winner is Jesse Landis (2024).
So far this season The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division has been competitive with four different drivers reaching victory lane in the seven features completed with point leader Colin Cox, Jesse Landis and Addison Meitzler all scoring two wins each, while Lawson Szerencits has also picked up a checkered flag.
All of these drivers along with three dozen total will be looking for the top glory in the prestigious Firecracker 40 championship race on Saturday including top point drivers Mike Schneck Jr., Kenny Gilmore, Dylan Swinehart, Nathan Mohr, Brett Gilmore, Gavyn Krupp, TJ Mayberry, and Teague Miller.
The T. P. Trailer Modifieds have been super competitive this season, as there have been seven different winners so far including Brian HIrthler, point leader Brett Kressley, Chris Esposito, Jeff Strunk, John Willman, Duane Howard, and Jon Kellner.
These drivers will be leading the field into action this Saturday night including top point contenders Mike Gular, Jared Umbenhauer, Louden Reimert, Craig Von Dohren, Eddie Strada, Logan Watt, Tim Buckwalter, Ryan Grim, Kyle Smith, and Doug Manmiller, along with three dozen drivers who will be looking for the checkered flag and a feature win.
Just around the corner on Saturday, July 19 will be Back to the 90’s Night sponsored by A.D. Moyer Lumber Company, featuring just $10 grandstand admission for a complete show of T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman starting at 7:30 pm.
