CONCORD, NC (July 9, 2025) – Speedway Children’s Charities’ Charlotte chapter is gearing up to host the ultimate karting endurance race on the ever-challenging karting course in the infield of Charlotte Motor Speedway, with several of NASCAR’s best joining the fun to support the cause. The highly anticipated 5th annual Clarke Power Services Speedway Children’s Charities Karting for a Cause presented by Tattoo Projects will push each team of drivers to their limits as they battle for the coveted checkered flag and ultimate bragging rights on Wednesday, July 16.

The three-hour endurance race will be highlighted by a team composed of NASCAR Cup series drivers, including FrontRow Motorsports’ Noah Gragson and Zane Smith and Haas Factory Team’s Cole Custer. The team of Sunday hotshoes will battle 27 other teams, including one featuring XFINITY driver Nick Sanchez, as they raise money for SCC, compete for bragging rights and a podium finish.

“Speedway Children’s Charities is grateful to the racing community and all of the many sponsors that make this annual event such an amazing day at the track as we race to raise funds for kids in need,” said Director of Speedway Children’s Charities Charlotte chapter Taylor Kirby. “In our fifth year of this annual karting event, we are fortunate to have teams circling this date on their calendar each year, making it a can’t-miss event.”

Speedway Children’s Charities Karting for a Cause has made a significant impact in the lives of area children in need, raising more than $65,000 in 2024 and more than $200,000 since its inception. This year, spectators can attend the event with a $10 donation to SCC. Infield gates will open at 5 p.m. and racing is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m.

All proceeds from the event directly benefit Speedway Children’s Charities Charlotte chapter, supporting their mission to enhance the lives of children in need.

Karting for a Cause is one of a number of fundraising efforts SCC hosts each year, from its black-tie gala to race weekend activations. In 2024, SCC Charlotte distributed more than $1.4 million to local nonprofits. Nationally, SCC serves 11 communities across the United States. Since its inception in 1982, SCC has awarded over $72 million to nonprofit organizations nationwide.
